Delivering Traffic to your Website

By TheTAZZone, published on Mar 11, 2011

HurricaneDean ( feel free to visit his website ) brought to my attention that he receives far more traffic to the articles he posts at another site than he does here. I explained to him that it doesn't matter how many views you get, what matters is how much of that traffic gets delivered to ' your ' website.

For the most part any ' signature-like ' link under a post or in a profile is useless as a means to drive traffic, most people ignore those types of links, their only real value is as a back-link to your site.

So utimately, if your intention is to drive traffic, you should... (more)

Website and Blog Traffic and Promotion

By TheTAZZone, published on Aug 15, 2010

And there is no easy answers. If there was a sure fire way to drive traffic people would not be asking the question over and over again...constantly.

Well, that's not entirely true. If you have deep pockets and can advertise on television like some websites, or know Celebrities that are willing to mention your site and popularize it...then...you really don't need to ask the question. But, for most of us, it's an issue that never seems to get resolved.

And as much as the ' experts ' on SEO and internet marketing ( blog/website promotion ) may claim to have the answer, and blame... (more)

Trial by Traffic: The Worst and Best of the East and West

By Kate Aucella, published on Aug 20, 2010

... years later, I can't use the word 'neutral' to describe my mindset when I'm held hostage behind the wheel, but I can safely say that I laugh, learn and left-turn enough to parlay any potential cynicism into humor and observation.

Among other things, LA is known for it’s record-breaking traffic and an obscenely high number of cars that fill its roadways (many of which are gas-guzzling, smog-test-failing SUV’s, the official vehicle of our country’s most eco-friendly state). The east coast is accepting of any working engine that is housed in metal and can get you from here to... (more)

The Traffic Equation

By TheTAZZone, published on Aug 21, 2010

... the counter goes wild they look at each other in horror ( how can they possibly ship all these orders in time??? )...then some ( I won't mention them ) courier service comes on to save the day, then instant relief overcomes them.

OH, if only it was like that...put up a site then ' BANG ' traffic starts pouring in like a flood. Only in the world of Hollywood and advertising production companies does reality take a turn to the bizarre.

So you managed to get your site up, or it's been up a long time already, and you're wondering what you're doing wrong. Well, maybe, you're doing... (more)

End of Tomorrows

By gt281, published on Jan 28, 2012

Silken clouds float over the city below, reflected in the windows of the empty skyscrapers. Monumental works of man reaching for the sky, all empty and silent now. The streets below are quiet, nothing moves. The traffic lights continue their endless blinking from green to yellow to red, but there is no car that will ever use them again. No birds in the sky, no animals of any kind. The wind stirs the trash around. A city abandoned like every city on the planet, a few remains of the citizens lie on the sidewalks or in the street, some just sit forever frozen in their cars as if ready to drive... (more)

Who Moved My Ovary?

By Ryann, published on Jan 31, 2012

...passion, my talent, my strength, and my life’s ambition. I knew what I was born to do, and smugly, my life’s purpose seemed far more likely than my best friend’s dream of either being a model on Paris runways or a roller-skating goddess like Olivia Newton-John in Xanadu. Thusly, childhood dream or not, it still seems unfathomable that I am, essentially, a childless parent.

I had felt like a personal failure. I still laugh at my feeling of entitlement and ignorance; like a blind person who was never told that being an air-traffic controller was simply not in his career cards.

The Substance of Things Hoped For

By Sylvia Smith, published on Feb 8, 2012

... hand like a grandma while he steered with the other. That's how we found that we had been born two days apart in the same year, and had gone to the very same Disneyland grad night in 1971, the night Smokey Robinson had played. That time, our hides dried out to drive another day. Prelude to a traffic accident. I teach this to my English students as foreshadowing, or in this case, flashback.

But I digress, as I often do. Still, there's a theme here.

Back to my story. On the drive back from San Diego, I finally lost count of how many times we had doubled back, the vineyards... (more)

Packing Tips

By Marie-Louise, published on Feb 8, 2012

... In your new home. Put a matching sticker on the door to each room. The movers will know where to put everything when they arrive at the destination. It's also helpful to post a big sign on the wall in the room where you want boxes stacked, ("Boxes here please") to keep them out of furniture and traffic areas.

Other tips

Tape any stray items together into a bundle. Ski poles, brooms, mops, lamp stands, etc... can be taped into one package for easy carrying and storing.

When moving furniture, make sure you keep all parts together with the item itself. Screws, bolts and... (more)

****LEAVING EGO BEHIND*****

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Mar 11, 2012

... need gas,

I'm going to be late now"

Heading to the gas station

cursing under my breath

"stupid idiot ahead"

"driving too slow,

"going to be even later"

"can you just put your foot

to the pedal jerk "grrrr...

I stop at a traffic light

looking out my window

I see a vision of surrender

waiting to clear my eyes

open my heart

embrace the best part

of my soul....

In the park

a baby robin

standing alone

crying...waiting

it's mother... (more)

The Wonders of the Automat

By Patricia Adams, published on Mar 15, 2012

...for us to return home, only one thing is left undone--the number one thing on the list.

We head for the Automat on Broadway near Seventh Avenue. My husband, usually a conservative driver, veers out of his lane and pulls within shouting distance of a police officer directing rush hour traffic. “Officer, is there any place we can park for just a few minutes?”

The officer frowns, shakes his head, and waves us on. As my husband works his way back into the line of traffic, the full length of the Buick station wagon passes the officer. The officer blows his whistle and... (more)
