Deadliest Mass Shooting in U.S. History
While it still is not clear whether the gunman took his own life or was shot by police, it is clear that this is the deadliest mass murder in American history since George Hennard drove his pick-up truck into Luby's Cafeteria, shooting 23 people in 1991. Starting at West Ambler Johnston, a coed dormitory housing 895 people, the unidentified gunman continued his rampage at least two hours later at Norris Hall, an engineering building about a half-mile away, where the death toll now stands at 31. So far, his name has not been released and investigators have not offered any motive for the attack.... (more)

Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol & Red Tails Movie Reviews
...their commanding officer, a full bird Colonel played by Terrence Howard finally gets a green light to employ their skills as bomber escorts and also to provide aerial coverage during ground force landings. It's during these operations that the Tuskegee Airmen secure their place in history shooting down scores of German fighters while flying their famous P-51 Mustangs painted with red paint on their tails therefore earning the nickname, Red Tails. Or as the bomber pilots came to call them, The Red Tail Angels. This movie is very good, but lacks the punch I'd hoped for. The characters ... (more)

Interview with author Jessica Yinka Thomas
...me to write a book that is a call to action for social justice.
What are your current projects?
I’m working on a sequel to How Not to Save the World, which is the second book in the Remi Austin Adventures trilogy. The sequel is tentatively titled How Not to Make Friends. I’m shooting to complete it this year. I don't want to give too much away but here is a sneak peek. How Not to Make Friends is a suspense novel set in a world of high culture, high fashion and high-tech gadgetry, about a band of three friends who make a pact to solve the world’s problems, big and... Silent Screams
...stadiums, sports areas, bars, work places, parks, on planes, and trains, boats and ships, but smoking is forbidden. I smoke myself, and have yet to get so loaded on nicotine from smoking, that I can’t drive a car, and I have yet to be so loaded up from smoking, that I go get a gun and start shooting people or maybe myself. And yet with alcohol, this type of event happens every single day. What a pile of PC double standard horse s**t. As I’ve said, I smoke myself, it’s a dirty, filthy, smelly habit and it costs a lot and is harmful to your health for most people. I do not recommend it... (more)

Media Childrens the Social
She corrects her stance, moves past the monitor where she has coasted and coexisted since her arrival. She always finds the balance to appease the elements at theWorkstation. She makes her best attempt to adjust the interface, shooting with both eyes open and a purity of heart un-battered by behavior, unbuttered by lifestyle.
Her half-mind races to theNetwork as if she just might further a legend. She thinks about social organization and how it is now finally paying a toll. Yes, as it should--not in the spirit of sacrifice, but from a place of hunger, the kind of hunger needing no food... (more)

Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here
...commendable zeal in the same process. Inmates in the various camps work fifteen hour days. Inadequately fed, they die of starvation or simple exhaustion.
That is when they are not murdered by the guards. In Shin’s camp there were eight rules which, if infringed, resulted in immediate shooting. Any woman falling pregnant was ‘shot immediately’. This included those who were raped by the guards. I say rape, but there was no crime here; for the guards were at liberty to have sex with any woman they chose, just as they were not at liberty to resist. This is a world without love,... (more)

Kings Cross Is it fixable?
Television, the glorifying of criminal behaviour needs to end. We don't need to glorify positions that other suburbs don't have. Yes I mean the King of the Cross, The Boss of the Cross.
Forget this celebrating the criminal element and actions. Police shooting in the streets at out of control teenagers yet the drugs flow like the dust on the footpath.
White ice castles is allegedly the house of the King? Well the ice flows each night, this illegal drug of necessity of evil. We can not state by law substance as illegal and then have a suburb where the shootings happen through... (more)

Love at First Sting
...years were rolling by no one had woken me up. My ego too large, yet my mind was just edging to succeed. It was a time and place that needed to be right to lessen the use on drugs. In fact I was waiting for the perfect timing. Until then it was one hit after another. Sitting between cars, shooting up. Sleeping in MacDonalds or the concrete park.
Yes, this is Kings Cross even today you can see someone buying a transaction everywhere. You only have to look as they said tonight when the interview started. The drugs are running ramped in Kings Cross.
Where are the police?... (more)

Drug addiction? Drugs affect so many.

The non sleeping for days is another sign, the tired mind slows its thoughts to a normal pace yet this slowing of the mind these people suffering from a drug abuse problem cant find the balance between the drugs and the existence of life. Are we helping these people with a shooting gallery on Darlinghurst Road?
Drugs are one of the reasons why Juanita Nielsen went missing, her life was lost to the information she knew regarding the drug trade in Kings Cross. This Drug trade was never mentioned within any of the inquests and police investigations. WHY?

Tuscon Massacre Mimics De Niro Role
...firearms. This is not to say that most youths will become murderers. But, we can see how it only takes one nut case to cause a tragedy. One can say the same about terrorists. It only takes one extremist imbued with religious zealotry to perpetrate a disaster.
In the case of the Tuscon shooting, a young man with reported mental problems, as was protagonist Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver, possibly being assisted by brutal computer games, shows up at a rally and starts shooting as if he were acting out a scene from of his games or videos.
I would like to think this tragedy was a... (more)
