Writer's "Cover Your Tracks" Falls Flat

A word about Jessica DeWinter:

Seattle transplant, writer & photographer for West Coast Performer magazine, photography major and avid flickr devotee: www.flickr.com/photos/jessicalea/

Local hangouts:

The Cha Cha (another Seattle export), Little Joy, the Gold Room, the Red Lion, Brite Spot, the Vista, ArcLight, Chango

Books:

Salinger, historical fiction, various non-fiction (biographies & memoirs, American and European historical study, psychology, performing arts & film theory, woodworking and vintage furniture deconstruction & restoration, travel, philosophy & psychology of religion), general fiction, stupid chick lit when I'm phoning it in.

Music:

Air, Billie Holiday, Black Heart Procession, Buddy Holly, Carissa's Wierd, Cat Power, Coltrane, Elliott Smith, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Hypatia Lake, Iron and Wine, Jeff Buckley, Michael Jackson, Modest Mouse, Mogwai, Murder City, Nick Drake, Peter Bjorn and John, Pinback, S, Sparklehorse, Sufjan Stevens, Tears for Fears, Tilly and the Wall, TV on the Radio, old Death Cab, brit pop, cheesy 80s shit like power ballads and bubblegum pop, jazz, big band, the Beach Boys, the Clash, the Cure, the Decemberists, the Flaming Lips, the Postal Service, the Shins, the Thermals, the National, the Faint. Et cetera.

Movies:

I COULD NO SOONER CHOOSE A FAVORITE CHILD. Just kidding, I hate children. Hitchcock, Citizen Kane, Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine, unshitty John Cusack, Before Sunrise/Sunset, Alejandro Amenebar, Garden State, Harry Potter, Heathers, chick flicks, Gidget, Edward Scissorhands, Ghost World, Wet Hot American Summer, Amelie, Audrey Hepburn, Christopher Guest, Wes Anderson, Andy Kaufman, Michel Gondry, and in truth I'll watch anything with Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, or Johnny Depp cause they're pretty. But I have to say I fucking hated Fear and Loathing. Oh, and you know what else? I hate David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick and My Own Private Idaho. Know why? CAUSE BEING INCOMPREHENSIBLE DOESN'T MAKE IT A FUCKING MASTERPIECE, that's why. Now Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.....THAT was a masterpiece.
