A word about Askcherlock:

We are a husband wife team who are on-going followers of politics, news and cultural trends which have global impact. Our blog is Askcherlock.com. A strange name for a blog, you say? Actually it was my husband's idea. My name is Cheryl, though no one has ever called me that. It has always been cher. I'm certainly not THE Cher, so I just use cher. When I was a P.I. one of the places for which I did work, nicknamed me Cherlock, and it stuck. Even our kids say, "Have you talked to the Cherlock's lately?" Visit us when you have the time. Whether you agree or disagree, we enjoy an open discussion.

My office, good restaurants and a clothesline pinned by my bleeding heart liberalism.

Books:

I read a book a week so my favorites are always changing. I prefer escapist reading so I gravitate to fiction. South of Broad by Pat Conroy has wonderfully-drawn characters so that is my favorite this week. My husband's favorite book is Lord of the Rings.He also enjoys escapist reading. Reality can be much more cruel.

Music:

I have pretty eclectic tastes in music, but lean toward Blues.

Movies:

Magnolia, Inside Moves, Pulp Fiction, The Others, Reservoir Dogs, What Dreams May Come, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Diner, and Harold and Maude are my Top 10.
