Nicolas Cage is nearing his mid-50s, and the Californian actor and producer is set to feature in a new cop film alongside Australian-born actor Dwayne Cameron. #211 stars Cage playing a police officer trying to foil a bank robbery with his partner (Cameron). Cage is renowned for playing the good guys in Hollywood movies and has played parts in romantic comedies, science fiction, dramas and action films. He is most famous for his starring roles in Moonstruck, Wild at Heart, Honeymoon in Vegas, Leaving Las Vegas, Con Air and Face/Off.

Perhaps his least successful film was Captain Corelli’s Mandolin(2001), which received poor ratings and has been named as one of the worst film adaptions of popular books by sites such as Promopony. Although the film wasn’t overly terrible, it seemed to skim the most important key parts of what is a beautiful story, making it seem a somewhat simplified version of what could have been a stunning film. However, Cage was undeterred by the flick's poor critical reception, coming back to Hollywood the following year with his directorial debut Sonny, which was a low-budget drama about a male prostitute starring James Franco. Cage continued to direct with subsequent film Shadow of the Vampire, and he has since turned his hand to television as well – being listed as executive producer for The Dresden Files on Syfy.
Nicolas Cage separated from his third wife, Alice Kim, in January 2016. They married in 2004 and had a son together, Kal-El, in 2005. Cage’s previous wife was the daughter of Elvis, Lisa Marie Presley, but they were divorced within two years. Patricia Arquette was Cage’s first wife and the rumours say that the couple separated not long after they were married – but the divorce took place six years later. Nicolas also has a son, Weston Coppola, from a girlfriend he met in 1988, actress Christina Fulton.

Nicolas Cage has starred in numerous forms of media over the last 35 years, including reportedly in over 50 films. He has been twice nominated for an Academy Award and won Best Actor in his role for Leaving Las Vegas in 1995, together with many more awards for this blockbuster movie. His films Honeymoon in Vegas, Moonstruck and Adaption were all nominated for awards by Screen Actors Guild, BAFTA and the Golden Globe. The last film he starred in was the successful Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance released in 2013. Not only that, but his love for producing and directing has perhaps taken a forward step in his life, showing us an alternative set of skills behind the scenes. After a four-year break from acting, many wondered if Cage's acting days were over and his role as director had instead taken preference, but with the upcoming release of #211, it seems he is not quite ready to step entirely behind the scenes just yet.
