Rodney King, the driver whom in 1992 was horrifically beaten by white police officers that resulted in massive riots that engulfed Los Angeles and spread across many US cities was found dead today at the age of 47, reports CNN news.

Rodney King's fiancee found him at the bottom of his pool. Paramedics who responded removed King from the pool and attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

An investigation into his drowning is expected. It is believed that he had been smoking marijuana and drinking prior to his death.

The UN World Tourism Organization has appointed the Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe, along with his political ally, Zambian President Michael Sata, as one of its worldwide "leaders of tourism," according to the Guardian.
