Survival has identified a Brazilian cattle-rancher involved in a controversial scheme to bulldoze Indians’ land in Paraguay and has asked the head of the United Nations that it be removed from the UN’s ‘Global Compact’.

The cattle-ranchers’ company, Yaguarete Pora S.A., is a member of the UN ‘Global Compact’, described as a ‘strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.’ The ‘Compact’ board is appointed and chaired... On January 23, 2010, a young girl of 16 sailed from Marina del Rey in California in her quest to sail solo around the globe and break the record as the youngest person to do so. Now in her 10th day at sea, Abby Sunderland, the 2nd of 7 children hopes to make history by June, 2010.

Abby headed south from the port on a direct line toward the Equator, a 2,000 mile leg that will take over 15 days. Her speed will be affected by the lack of wind as she approaches the area known as the Doldrums. This region is noted for extremely calm periods when the winds disappear altogether, or are light... A Law and Order SVU show has stoked the embers of a problem the Obama Administration seems to have put on the back burner…illegal immigration. The episode became controversial because it implicitly branded talk show hosts such as Bill O’Reilly as immigrant hating fear mongers.

O’Reilly strongly denies this and hit back at show producer Dick Wolf calling him a “despicable human being.” But, as far as the problem goes, all this name-calling is irrelevant. What was important about the show was that it actually approached the actual causes of illegal immigration; things politicians and law... Read More

Possibly the biggest question Americans have to ponder, aside from what are we going to do when the oil runs out, is: Has the Orwellian nightmare in “1984”, the war that never ends, become a reality for us?

According to a US Senate report, there was a time when our forces could have smashed the Al Qaeda leadership and captured Osama Bin Laden. But, we let him escape by order of GW Bush and Donald Rumsfeld.

The reason was simple: Bin Laden was more valuable to the war effort and less trouble by being on the loose. This devious logic is even stretching it for such an underhanded... Read More

Today in an announcement that will have significant implications across the spectrum, Eric Holder, Obama’s Attorney General, stated that the master mind and 4 other men tied to the September 11 attack on the U.S. will be tried in civilian court in New York City. This decision which many have expected for weeks confirms the fears of many Americans that Obama and key members of his administration view the horrific event as a criminal matter and not related to a war, and in particular, a war of terror. The Obama administration seems to be unable to define what a terrorist act is and to deal with... Read More

My opinions are:

I am not sure this is truly a 'career' choice, per se, rather in most circumstances, more of a continuation of the only way of life that they themselves have known. However, I realize there are countless who have indeed found filing a few yearly forms to receive government benefits preferable to a nine-to-five work schedule and abuse the system at every opportunity. I am also very aware of, and have personal knowledge of, women who have deliberately conceived a child with a 'minority' to further add to oncrease these subsidies and ensure preferential treatment for... The real victim of the run in between Harvard malcontent Henry Louis Gates and officer James Crowley may actually be the poor woman making the call to police. For her efforts at being a good citizen, she has been labeled a racist and received various threats. At least the policeman is permitted to carry a gun and pepper spray. At her press conference, she should have made it clear that this would be the last time she ever lifts a finger for anyone in her COMMUNITY.

North Korea has executed a mother of three for distributing Bibles. Perhaps Bill Clinton should have made a bigger fuss... Read More

Should Enforced Laws Be Waived For Different Minorities?

The laws are rapidly decomposing as the constitution erodes into inactivity. This is just another unfortunate incident occurring in the country. :)Credo
