Come raining season and everything around us looks fresh, green and vibrant. Many a times we do spot a rainbow after thunderstorms and rains, yes in metro cities too. The beautiful colourful Rainbow which has different hues of nature often made us wander about god’s miracle when we were children.

We often use colours to define our moods; for instance “I am green with envy” or if you are feeling low; it’s “I am feeling blue”. Whereas in an embarrassed situation its “I am turning pink”. We consciously or subconsciously choose our clothes... Read More

In 1712, Thomas Newcomen built the first workable device that could harness the power of steam. Yet, at a measly 15 RPM, and because his valves wouldn’t always close and open correctly, it was hardly better than the 14 year-old donkey being coaxed in a circle to pump water out of the mines.

Current technology has not really changed in 300 years (an oversimplification perhaps). In nearly every application of power generation the process remains relatively the same. Cook something, gas or oil, boil water, create steam, spin a turbine, generate electricity. There have been a... Read More

I always seem to find out about cool stuff well after everyone else. I am a low-tech, day-late, dollar-short kind of guy. For the longest time, I thought a Cincy Bowtie was actually a piece of clothing. I was under the impression that an iPod was a newly discovered antioxidant plant material. Someone told me that an upper decker was a cheap seat at a ballgame.

Needless to say, I eventually found out what all these things are--like a year later. That's why I wasn't surprised to discover that I am one of the last people in my circle of friends to find out about what's called 800-GOOG-411.

Numerology is the study of the occult significance of numbers. As we know everything around us has energy. Numbers too have vibratory energy. It is possible that the numbers are a descriptive code or representation of a force determining people’s behavior at this time numerology does not allow for scientific explanation but the consistent congruence between a persons numbers and that persons characteristics and life’s experiences have given credence to this science of numbers.

Well to understand the science of numerology and it’s working for the commoners like us;... Read More

“This isn’t madness. This is Sparta!” I screamed at my dust covered laptop as I dragged it out of the closet.

The poor thing was battered, worn, and in bad shape. The battery was dead, the DVD drive screwed up, and the screen was beginning to separate from the cover. But, it had Microsoft Access installed and my PC did not have this program. After finding Base for OpenOffice lacking in the tutorial department, I realized I now needed this program if I was going to learn how to create a database without taking a course or paying for additional software.

We have all seen the toothpaste adverts exclaiming about their special fluoride contents that strengthen enamel; we listened to the American Dental Association (ADA) continuously endorse fluoride treatments and water fluoridation as a safe and effective way to prevent tooth decay. For those of you who are “unfortunate” enough to live in a low fluoridated area, there are fluoride supplements for adults as well as children. Even many brands of bottled water are infusing fluoride as an extra bonus. Although it seems like we are blessed with such easily accessible fluoride sources, this substance... Read More

Well I now have the perfect excuse to give someone when I don’t want to fix their computer. I don’t want to go to jail. That’s right, I could go to jail for fixing your computer.

Why could I go to jail for fixing your computer you may ask? I’ll tell you why. Because I am not a licensed Private Investigator. (Go ahead dear reader, scratch your head and say “What the…?”) Now what in the hell does being a licensed Private Investigator have to do with computer repair? That my friends, is a very good question. A question which is being asked... Read More
