I was reading through a bunch of stories the other day and I came across a story (written by Greg Carr) that stated that he had read a news story once of a woman who was getting ready to jump off a 44 story building in New York City.

Witnesses said that she did not look like the type of person who would do such a thing. She was very distinguished and well dressed. All the attempts made by the police to get the woman off the ledge had failed. One of the officers asked if he could call his pastor in to see if he could help. When the pastor arrived, he asked permission to go to the... Read More

This is a great little story that I found (great-motivational-stories.blogspot.com) that demonstrates two primary things that generally will decide whether or not a person ever becomes successful. It has always been fascinating to me how many people are afraid to let go of their fears or to think “outside the box” in order to be successful. The following short illustration, gives us a good example of this concept…

Monkey-hunters use a box with an opening at the top, big enough for the monkey to slide its hand in. Inside the box are nuts. The monkey grabs the nuts and now its hand becomes... Read More

As the mother of 4 boys, I am most definitely the thorn amongst the roses. And I quite possibly have myself to blame. You see, when I got married, I was young and innocent and had a lot to prove. I wanted to be able to stand up on my own 2 feet and never feel dependent on a man. I made a point of trying to do it all - including any DIY tasks. So over the years if anything needed to be fixed or cabled up or programmed, I was the go to person. I am the technical one in the family. I like to know how things work and I also pick things up very easily. I can do anything and I am a true Jack... Read More

I Want to Go Back in Time When….

Decisions were made by going “eeny-meeny-miney-mo.”

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, “do over!”

“Race issue” meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in “Monopoly.”

Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening.

It wasn’t odd to have two or three “best” friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

The net on a tennis court was the perfect height to play volleyball and rules didn’t matter.

The worst thing you could... Read More

Whether you believe it or not, everyone has an opinion whether or not there is an afterlife and, if so, where it would be. Would it be in a type of paradise? heaven? In the form of someone else or an animal? Or do we just cease to exist? Regardless of what we might think, most people DO believe that there is a heaven...I know I do. One thing that I can say, is that I am pretty sure that everyone believes that their life is precious. But how would you think if you found out that your had a disease that was terminal and you were told that you only had a few months to live? Today's heart-touching... Read More

I recently came across this story on “Inspirational Stories for Your Soul” that I thought was intriguing and which raised a good question…what is the most important part of the human body? Can you guess what it might be? The answer may surprise…and inspire you!

My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body and, through the years, I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer.

When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans so I said "my ears, mommy". She said "No, many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it... Read More

Since this past Monday was Memorial Day, I thought it would be nice to find a story of an unsung hero of a war and share it with you. The story I found for today’s article was written and adapted by Z.A.Mudge and took place in the Civil War. It involved a young Civil War soldier and a President that some of us may know…President Abraham Lincoln.

In the summer of 1862, a young man belonging to a Vermont regiment was found sleeping at his post. He was tried and sentenced to be shot. The day was fixed for the execution, and the young soldier calmly prepared to meet his fate.

Friends... Read More
