I came across this scripture when looking for a quote...I read this and understood that the pain that I've experienced, has given me wisdom that has shaped me to be who I am today. I can actually be thankful for my hardships which have given me emotional depth.

The characteristics that belong to me now, have been infused as though a fire has tempered my soul. My sensitivities to others have guided me to a career path. A career path that led me straight to being a support and crisis worker to advocate for those in need . The people I have worked with have taught me so much... Read More

Christmas brings out mixed feelings in me. Will it be good or bad, white or green this year?

There were the Christmases of childhood when I cradled a lonely Roy Rogers annual while my more fortunate cousins flashed multiple gifts received from doting parents. The Christmases of Pyrotechnics followed, when my bachelor uncle would buy a car load of fireworks each year and appoint me master organizer of the Christmas-eve “firing schedule,” when I became the envy of the neighbourhood kids. The fireworks-less Christmas followed in the year my sister was born—our Christmas baby, who as a missionary... Read More

INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR OF 'TRIANGULAR THINKING.' RIGINAL.

I caught up with A Square, author of the best- selling edible diet book, 'Triangular Thinking,' in a home- made pie shop on the outskirts of Fat Chance, Prague.

ME:"What prompted you to compose this edible diet book A?"

AS:" By Fat Chance i came across extremely large people wandering the streets of Prague. So large were they that traffic in Prague had ground to a halt. Fat people in fat cars were winding their windows down screaming,"please move your lard!"

ME:" What was the response?"

AS:"Go round"...the... Read More

I am not the person that attends church on a regular basis, if at all. If you ask me what directs my life though, I will answer without hesitancy. I place my life in God's hands to direct as He sees fit. Today I need to call myself out for not following what I know I must, what I hold faith in.

There are times we feel we know more than God. We think we can do more than God. We actually believe that what we want and how we want it is better than the way God can bring it to us. In fact we get so busy doing what we think is best, that there is no room for God to come into our lives at all.

They say that we are born alone and that we die alone. Though there may be many gathered around us at these two seminal events, we are the ones being born and who are doing the dying, the rest are spectators. And between these two bookends of life lie the many people whom we encounter along the journey, people who motivate, inspire, discourage and disparage—heroes and villains. Your life is like a novel and the people in it are characters. I have tried to categorize these people:

Motivators: Children, spouses, extended family – those you have to struggle to give life to, to protect,... Read More

RECALCITRANT BULL? RIGINAL.

Before i start this partially true story; just a quick reflection on a couple of things. The daily news as i'm sure you'll agree would not be projected as such unless steeped in controversy and or death and destruction. Something to stir the senses and senseless? You don't agree? good, means you have a whine of your own, particularly if you own a vineyard.

Pertaining to senseless. Child safety 'expert' defends his org's stance on why this Christmas children should not sit on Santa's knee. Read into it what you will. If CS has its way children will have... Read More

I will learn from my mistakes and not defend them....we spend so much defending our mistakes, hiding from them...rather than saying woo...wow what was I thinking? Why do we not say..this is my mistake and I am going to clean up my side of the street. Our mistakes are our best teacher...take them , embrace them, and let them instruct you in the lessons you need to learn. There is purpose in mistakes. I am not a bad person, but I do make mistakes...so I am going to take them, look at the reasons behind them, and then find the truth within this that I need to acknowledge to myself.
