Christmas is all about gift giving, Santa Claus and caroling; overeating and sleeping in; egg nog and mistletoe; wild office parties and designated drivers. It's about getting together with relatives you cannot stand and sitting in airports for hours on end; driving around mall parking lots and dealing with screaming brats and teetering seniors. It's about putting lights on the house without falling off the roof; killing a perfectly nice evergreen tree and keeping it alive in your living room with sugar water until December 26th, when you dump it on the corner like an unwanted stepchild.... After cooling down a bit from my last article, and getting my senses back together and feeling a little serene. I thought I'd be a good boy and to show you that my hearts' in the right place, I'll fight any man in the house! I'm kiddin' ya! On the serious note... I don't know too much about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa or anything like that. I'm just going to give you all a solid MERRY CHRISTMAS! Weather you like it or not and spare the political correctness about it. I don't want to hear it! I want to wish you the best that life can give. Happiness and Good Health! You are all a pretty good group... Read More

December 4th, 2007, Jessica Sherwood had to do something no mother should ever have to do.

At 2:29 pm Jessica made a very tough, but the right decision to take her little 3 month old daughter off life support. In memory of little London Marie. Jessica had a message that I want every one to know... This is what jessica said: IF ANYONE HAS KIDS MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THEM WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. DONT GIVE THEM TO ANYONE THAT YOU DONT TRUST... I THOUGHT I TRUSTED JOSH... BUT NOW AS OF 12-4-07 AT 2:29AM SHE IS GONE... MY ONE AND ONLY BABY... I LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, MY BABY GIRL.... SHE... Read More

We recently found out that a very good friend of ours has cancer. It's in her lungs and has spread to her spine. In an instant, her life has completely changed. Less than one month ago she was doing standup comedy, making people laugh. Now she can barely walk because of the medication she’s taking, she cannot drive, she’s not hungry and she needs someone to take care of her 24/7. Cancer has probably affected everyone’s life in one form or another. My first encounter with the disease was when my mother died of breast cancer in 1966, when I was eight years old. They didn’t know much... Read More

I have a 7-year-old pit bull named Shelly, and she is the most wonderful, gentle animal I have ever owned. She has never attacked anyone and doesn't show any signs of aggression. I am so tired of people treating her like a vicious beast. The misconceptions about pit bulls are totally unfounded and most people buy into the negative hype without doing any research on their own. I am so tired of all the frowns and negative energy that I get from people when they see me with my dog. Landlords and insurance companies are also prejudiced against pit bulls. Good luck renting an apartment/house or... Read More

Comedian Robin Williams once said, "Ah, yes, divorce ... from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man's genitals through his wallet." While extreme, it is an unfortunate perspective shared by many men when faced with the emotional and financial strains of dissolving a marriage. With an estimated 70% of all Southern California marriages ending in divorce and a pervasive attitude that the courts don't always render decisions that are gender neutral, men are often relegated to feeling powerless in the face of the legal system. While the financial ramifications of divorce are certainly of great... Read More

Although spanking has been considered a necessity in childrearing in the earlier part of the century, it is not as desired for a form of discipline as it once was. The American Academy of Pediatrics strongly opposes striking a child, most doctors and psychologists don't recommend it, and many parents dislike resorting to such an act. So if the public has reached such a consensus that there are better options than spanking, why is there so much heated debate about the potential spanking ban? Assemblywoman Sally Lieber will introduce a new law next week that will prohibit parents from spanking... Read More
