A recent dog napping incident ended well, but many people lose their dogs and never get them back. Jojo the dog was reunited with Nicholas and Marie Gaffney and their three-year-old son of San Francisco, when a San Rafael veterinarian was able to identify the stolen canine by scanning for Jojo’s microchip when the dog was brought in for a check-up by its so-called “new owners”.
The five-year-old Australian cattle dog disappeared initially when an unidentified woman untied the animal from where he had been left outside the Safeway on Market and Church streets and walked away. A vet in... Read More

San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury district used to be a great place to visit, with all of the funky cafes, the head shops, the amazing music stores and a great laid-back vibe, but now it’s turned into a battleground where homeless drunks, stoners, small-time pot dealers and an entire armada of world’s lost children have taken over the area by acting like aggressive bullies and fighting the cops, who are losing the war and don’t really seem to care.
One of our friends was recently assaulted by a gang of homeless stoners in the Haight. He was walking down the street, avoiding eye contact... Read More

Recently, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety told car manufacturers that they are going to have to make vehicle roofs thicker and stronger if they want to attain top safety ratings. This announcement will help save lives and make our cars safer. Many of us spend as much as 20% of our waking hours in our cars, so we obviously want then to be as safe as possible.
I was in an accident many years ago in which the vehicle I was in flipped.... Read More
This year my holiday spirit is definitely not up to par. I don’t know if my lack of enthusiasm can be attributed to the economy this past year or if I am suffering from holiday blues. I have tried to get myself into the holiday spirit in a number of different ways. I have watched my favorite holiday movie, A Christmas Story, at least 5 times since Thanksgiving. I have been drinking lots of hot cocoa and eggnog (with Bailey’s, so surely the alcohol would have bolstered my spirits) and while doing my holiday shopping, my ears have perked up hearing the Little Drummer Boy playing in the stores...
