“Come on men, we got 45 minutes to win the Scottish Cup”

I said these words many about 9 years ago now to 16 adults as we went on to win the Scottish Cup in front of thousands of fans and onlookers. These were words spoken by a man who demanded the very best in what he was doing and demanded the best from others

I often wonder what happened to that man, the man that writes this can only look back and wish he was still that man, as I sit here and feel sorry for my stupid self I just can’t believe the fall from grace I have had. I know we all have a story and nobody wants to help... Read More

Hatred as I see it, even in my own backwater middle of nowhere country is taught, we are born pure and innocent, then we become the person we are taught to be or told to be. I was taught hate on a large scale and I went with it in a big way, then one day I looked at my 3 year old son, started to cry and walked away from it, I found love, compassion and more, then the pain came, I always wonder to this day, why did the pain come when I woke up to intolerance and hatred

Karma is the best I can come up with to this day, I did some awful things as a kid and a young man, but doing football... Read More

The phone call comes on a Saturday night.

I listen to the police in shocked silence.

“Your son has been in a serious car accident.”

“No, we have not ascertained the extent of his injuries.”

“We did use the jaws of life to extract your son and his girlfriend from the vehicle.”

“No, I told you, I cannot tell you the extent of his injuries but if you head over to Trauma 1 at the Civic, they will give you an update.”

” All I can tell you is it seems that the vehicle did flip end over end and then barrel-rolled down into a ditch filled with water.”

The age old question “What would you wish for if you had 1 wish”

Some will say money, some will ask their kids be safe, many will ask for a big car or a better house, or to even win the lottery, none of the above for me, what will be will be, I can control only a portion of any of the above

My wish would be World Peace. A World where we spoke to each other

A Word where we talked before acting

A Word where the value of money is less than a person’s life

A World where I know my kids will grow up safe

A World that offers that “Christmas Spirit” every... Read More

Mary Young Cassatt’s unfinished painting that speaks to me about breaking free to live in the Spirit of God. The painting was done in 1880 or so and is unfinished. This unfinished painting is symbolic because we all are unfinished, always growing, changing the parts of ourselves that are still fragmented and broken.

Sheltering the Divine

“During the many occupations that fill the day, our minds must be fixed on God and our eyes always turned towards Him… for He is always within the depths of our souls, always, always, always there, listening to us and asking us to speak to... Read More

I am human,

living each day,

sunrise to sunset

in a linear progression,

looking back to remember the past

living in the moment,

thinking of tomorrow

as the future.

With pride and in awe,

we watch our offspring stand on the ceiling

of our experience and all we have taught them.

My ceiling is in fact my children’s floor.

It is what they stand on as they begin their lives.

And so the circle of life continues but not like a pointless circle; it is more like a spiral which rises ever closer to the light,... Read More
