Judged on the surface, each endevour appears to be executed

by an incompetent ne’er-do-well,

trying yet again and floundering.

The result is a fiasco, debacle, catastrophe, disaster, blunder,

a plain old botch up.

Call it a washout, dead duck or a lead balloon.

By any other name, it is still

a flop.

upon further reflection,

this apparent lack of success,

is not a result of a lack of talent,

but like

Consider the life of an ant. Not a queen ant, a worker ant.

Ants scurry about, eyes trained on the ground in front of them, hauling loads of food that are bigger than they are. They are completely oblivious to the world around them, fixated solely their own tiny society. Often this narrow viewpoint leads to disastrous results, with whole colonies wiped out of existence when the macrocosm surrounding them crashes into their little world.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to communicate with an ant, or to warn an ant of danger. Any offer of help frightens them because an ant perceives... Read More

I understand the power of words to diffuse evil and banish lies. So if I could only chose seven words to express myself to the world, they would have to be clear, concise words, words that would convey...

Life not death and

Joy not despair.

Words that would bless, not curse,

ushering in hope and not crushing the reader with despair.

I would need words that pierce a mind with light, triggeringunderstanding and wisdom not words of sophistry to summon darkness or confusion.

Perhaps only one word, the Word made Flesh sums up all I would want to say.. .Jesus.

When I read this daily prompt, the first person to pop into my head was my five-week old old granddaughter, not some famous person who has accomplished great deeds. What I find most startling about this little person called Lila is this look of utter surprise as she surveys the world. When Lila, turned at the sound of my voice and looked at me for the first time, her eyes widen suddenly in recognition. It was if she thought,

"Ah, so this is what you look like. I remember your voice."

She remembered the sound of my voice from when she was in the womb and at 6 hours old, finally put... Read More
