Top 3 WordPress Plugins for Your Blog

If you’re new to WordPress you need to find out what the best plugins are for your business. Luckily, we had to learn the hard way and we have accumulated years and years of WordPress experience into this post.

We bring you 3 of the most powerful and effective WordPress plugins for your blog.

Let’s dive in.

WordPigeon - export Google Docs to WordPress

This plugin is a must-have for anyone that is managing their blog on WordPress. Do you remember when you’ve tried in the past to export Google Docs to WordPress and how long it took you? It would literally take us hours per post to reformat all of the content and then re-upload the images.

Well, now you don’t have to do any of that.

This brilliant plugin is called WordPigeon and it does the entire job with one click. It exports all of your Google Docs to WordPress (and Blogger if you have one) and brings over all the formatting and the images (in original quality). You can even write in your URL slug and other SEO parameters as you export.

It’s literally saved us hours every week.

WordFence - secure your blog from hackers

As you might know already, WordPress is known to have its security issues. We didn’t believe it until we got hacked and someone took down our entire blog... Those sneaky hackers.

So we downloaded WordFence. It’s one of the best security plugins on WordPress and it gets the job done. It routinely scans your site for any bugs or vulnerabilities. It also sets up a firewall for your site. And finally, it even scans your files and deletes the ones that have been compromised.

In our particular case, we had some hackers that tried to get into our private files that ran the blog itself. So WordFence took away their ability to do so by deleting the files and copying them to another folder. It was magical.

Yoast SEO - boost your SEO efforts

Last but not least, one of the most important aspects of your blog should be your SEO and Yoast is the most popular SEO plugin on WordPress. Yoast is great because it displays what you need to fix and shares helpful tips along the way. It’s super easy to use and it’s really affordable.

What’s really great about Yoast is that it gives you a score for every post that you write. The score goes from red (no good) to green (great SEO work). And you can see the colors from your list of posts. So you can quickly scan your posts and identify which ones need a quick SEO tune-up.

Recap

We’ve covered three of our most favourite WordPress plugins that are bound to take your WordPress blog to the next level. They are WordPigeon, WordFence and Yoast SEO. If you use these three well you will for sure dominate on your content marketing efforts.
