Regrets of the Dying

By Coach Phatty, published on May 30, 2014

...may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Often they would not truly realize the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets... (more)

Losing a Best Friend: The Importance of Listening

By Shantall Prado, published on Apr 1, 2014

...from each other. This is creating people who are connected but feel lonely. As Turkle claimed, ‘[...] no one is listening [...] we are expecting more from technology and less from each other.’ What she means is that we are relying on technology to help us with our problems rather than our friends. In a world where people are being brought together, losing a best friend can create devastating results, making this loss extremely difficult.

Breaking up with a best friend can be a difficult subject to talk about because you are probably not speaking to the people you regularly... (more)

Words of Thanksgiving from My WordPress and Personal Friends

By Coach Phatty, published on Nov 28, 2013

The Thanksgiving season is here and there is much to be thankful for. I decided to do something different this year. I put out a question to my Word Press and personal friends of mine, and asked them to share with us something that they are thankful for in either a few words or a sentence or two. The following quotes are from the dear people that decided to share their thoughts with everyone. It is my hope and prayer that some of these quotes (whether it be one, some or all of them) will be an encouragement to your heart.

I am so thankful for my two handsome sons, a beautiful... (more)

Still I Hold On To Hope....

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jul 1, 2013

...redemption to bless my heart

They go unanswered***

Still many prayers were heard and justified

So I pray on...

Often I have trusted a friend

To be betrayed and left weeping

A betrayal to my heart

Scarred with pain***

Still many friends have been true

So I trust on...

I've planted endless seeds

Never seeing them blossom

Becoming feed for the birds

To live and nourish their babies***

Still I have witnessed them prosper

So I plant on...

I have swallowed... (more)

The Most Important Part of the Body

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 4, 2013

...said, "Son the most important body part is your shoulder." Was it because it held up my head? She replied, "No, because it can hold the head of a friend or loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my son.

I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it."

Then and there I knew the most important body part was not selfish, it was sympathetic to the pain of OTHERS.

You are a friend and, whenever you want, you can cry on my shoulder!!!

People will forget what... (more)

Why your childless girl friends are worth their weight in gold.

By Annabelle Charbit, published on Dec 4, 2012

...of us new moms ditch those single gals, whose priorities are now so different from ours. But in spite of the radical lifestyle differences, accompanied by the misconception that we must run headlong into the nearest circle of new moms, it won't be long before we learn that our childless friends still have so much to offer...After two years as a mom, it has finally dawned on me that my interactions with mom friends is at best frustrating (at worst hurtful), whilst interactions with childless friends continues to be satisfying. With childless friends we can finish a conversation... (more)

Is this really the new definition of friendship?

By Annabelle Charbit, published on Oct 7, 2012

I grew up in a world where you supported your friends no matter what, and the only grounds for dumping a friend was if they were unpleasant directly to YOU.

Nowadays, it seems the rules of friendship have changed. You can be friends with someone for years, yet God help you if you make a bad personal decision that has absolutely no impact on them at all. Because you are liable to be judged and then dumped! I have been dumped by a friend who disapproved of my high chocolate diet, deemed too selfish by another who disagreed with my point of view in an argument with my husband. Yet another... (more)
