Whose Hands?

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 5, 2014

Perception of the circumstances and things that happen throughout our lives can be so very important. Sometimes, when things happen, it seems as if we have no control over them…they are out of our hands. But…are the circumstances that we experience REALLY out of our hands?IT DEPENDS WHOSE HANDS THEY ARE IN!

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19. A basketball in Michael Jordan’s hands is worth about $33 million. It depends whose hands it’s in.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6. A baseball in Mark Mcquire’s hands is worth $19 million. It depends whose hands it’s in.

How Are You?

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Mar 11, 2014

... in some kind of emotional or physical pain when someone close to you asked “How are you doing?” and you, in spite of the pain, said, “I’m fine,”knowing full well you weren’t?

It is true that when someone asks us how we are, we tend to respond with “I’m fine.” And the truth is that we are more often than not… NOT FINE when we say it.

Usually, the response “I’m fine” is an attempt to hide. Of course, the answer you give depends largely on who is asking. For example, the cashier at the grocery store doesn’t need to hear the truth, but those... (more)

The Big Lie Nobody Challenges, and How to Have Eternal Life!

By Jedo Kingsman, published on Jan 12, 2014

We don't need to look far to find scandal, abuse, adultery, the use of pornography, lying, drunkenness and other types of reprehensible behavior among people that are supposed to be living good Christian lives. People that call themselves 'Christian' are many times the opposite of what one would consider a Christian to be (I include myself in this group, in times past). While there is an aspect of human frailty and weakness that we all will struggle with to some extent, there is a doctrine that has become a 'pillar' of the vast majority of Christian churches which is not Biblical and has led... (more)

Bells and Whistles – mothers and fathers.

By iancochrane, published on Nov 4, 2013

Dragano is an editor initially from up north. He’s tall and rakish, the wisp of a moustache and sleek brown hair; has the habit of whistling unexpectedly, as he ponders the ways of an unjust world while stroking a precocious black cat. His villa is classic Tuscan, the bricks and terra cotta gables more orange than red. I soak up the sun while a younger woman serves coffee and biscotti, rubs Dragano’s shoulder and returns to the kitchen.

I mention Venice: Dragano’s birthplace and from where I’ve come. “Ah yes, but that was not to be.” He smiles wistfully and his eyes drift off to one... (more)

Sacred Thoughts

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Sep 20, 2013

...of a Mother's gift

The wind delighting in the fragrance

The aura and aroma scenting this beauty

I come to you with prayer on lips

To never leave you

As I am your own

Surrendered in the divinity

Of understanding, compassion

Tranquil gifts of reverent homage

Belonging as the birds are to flight

The water to the sea

The trees to the forest

I began with you

I will end with you

Nothing will come between

What is offered in truth...

Emancipate Yourself From Mental Slavery

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Sep 16, 2013

My heart aches

Seeing you lost in

Self judgement

Believing all the lies

Others have dumped

On your soul...

Entreating, appealing to you

Let them go

Emancipate yourself

From "mental slavery"

Travel within to

Find the essence of

All the beauty you possess...

Remember when you reached out

For no reason other than

You wanted to help

Remember when you shared

Someone trials and pains

Simply out of the goodness

Of your pure giving heart...

This is your immaculate... (more)

With Her In My Thoughts

By Uttam Gill, published on Sep 10, 2013

Are you somewhere from where you cannot return ...are you somewhere from where you don’t hear. Are you so oblivious of the truth that you exist? If not then, where are you? Today, once again I question my elusive subjection to your existence. ...I yell loudly: “No you are just cannot vanish.”Who are you? I think, I saw you a moment ago but I am not sure. Why I am not so sure? Why is that, I am not able to get it? Why, I am brandishing, my yell to scare you? Am I pretending? Now listen to me, answer me please. Why is that, I feel, you are here? I saw you, that was you and I am very... (more)

Letter To My Boss

By Uttam Gill, published on Aug 8, 2013

My Dear Sir,

From the semantics, I wish to rise above and truthfully wish to say things, which perhaps, would ruffle you. And to be very fair to my grooming and decency, I never wish to say things, to hurt you, if you take this letter as one. If my emotions giving me the liberty to be mighty full to say things, then what I perceive in my observations, surely needs to be worded in fair language of communication. I cease to get drawn into an endless discussions with an individual who refuse to listen but to me you are not an individual; you are more than that. You are not an ordinary man... (more)

Three Edged Sword: Trayvon & George

By DKIdea, published on Jul 21, 2013

...citizens in a capacity that offers my life in the performance of that service. Trayvon will never have the opportunity to make a similar contribution.

As we struggle to understand this tragedy, we should remember that understanding is a three edged sword: your side, their side and the truth. There are extreme opinions and feelings in all of this, and somewhere in the middle is reason, and the truth. The jury got it right the first time but failed to understand the model of which I’m speaking of, and therefore didn’t recognize the truth. In their first vote they were three for... (more)

Propaganda is not Useful Information

By DKIdea, published on Jun 18, 2013

...within the scope of reality, that which is presented as fact...but upon further investigation, doesn’t hold up to the standard of being fact. The most common type of such a representation is a lie. Well...the only type of such a representation is a lie. The only degree of which is how much truth it’s being hidden in...and if that truth remains, true. Truth, while being absolute, isn’t always enduring. When the game is played along these lines, the water gets muddy on what is technically a lie...and what is simply outdated information. Welcome to the wonderful world of propaganda.... (more)
