Birthed in a Crucible of Despair

By melanie jean juneau, published on Jul 13, 2014

A traumatic childhood,

A husband dead after eight years of wedded torment,

Caroline was

Too exhausted now to carry out any nefarious plans she had concocted to end her own life.

Depressed , empty, seemingly devoid of hope

At a dead-end of nothingness.

Yet, a tiny flicker appeared, a flame of inspiration birthed in a crucible of despair

A thought rose up, swelling until all other notions were pushed aside,

a thought of surrendering everything to God.

Her past, present and future... (more)

...around and the light from the hut indulges my mind to an effusive wonder of darkness and light… I understood the purpose of my journey to this hut...And I went back with darkness and light in my heart…I realized that the life is a part of such effusive wonders and we need to take light as well darkness with equal consent…The fusion of darkness and light holds all the power to remove the alien from us… And that’s how when I feel my wretched emotions castrating me, then, I always walk up to that hut, at the edge of the Cliff and I know there hope lives..There life begins…

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all used this view when approaching the things that have been broken in our lives? Broken relationships, broken hearts, misunderstandings, you name it… If those things in life were repaired by every person with love, kindness, forgiveness, wouldn’t the world, wouldn’t we be better off for the repair? Wouldn’t we view our lives differently? Wouldn’t our values change in a heartbeat?

A Flicker Of Light And Hope

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Oct 18, 2013

... knowing

The love of freedom

The tranquility of silence

Reposed in calmness...

Clasped instead in the iron-cast

Turmoil, nightmares that

Flare to light the night

The horrors that fill their

Sunlit days and moonlit nights...

Yet their hope survives

Easing the anguish

One small flame living

In their hearts and souls

Refusing to be surrendered...

Never to be lost

Not to be sold

Nor traded for unrest

Clutched to their souls

Held tightly with faith...

A candle in... (more)

Too Deep For Tears

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Oct 13, 2013

...shaky knees yet your footsteps

Strengthened by the spirit witnessing placement ...

Beyond anything of this world

Echoes of an unknown past...

Guided simply by your own "knowing"

Wrapped gently in unconditional acceptance...

Manifesting within what your instinct tells you

Surrendered while leaping off a cliff...

Have you wept out your disappointments

Your sorrows, with mournful groans...

All the while holding firmly and gathering

A reimbursement of hope...

This emotion simply too deep for tears ...

An Idealist's Prayer

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Sep 28, 2013

...feels foreign

Bereft of caring, compassion, soul

I question so much in my search

To know, to feel, to expand my heart

To transcend my soul to a higher purpose

Struggling against man made complacency

Lost at times within my own self...

Putting my hopeful fingers to this canvas

The blood flowing through my veins,

Merged with the vision of my soul

Painting my path, holding faith to my essence

Reaching beyond what lies on the surface

To an eclipse, dancing in the memories

Which originate somewhere

Running Your Own Race

By Randy Mitchell, published on Sep 24, 2013

Ever had a big dream, huge aspirations to do something truly great, wanted to be “somebody” who is far out of the realm of your personal comfort zone, desired to leave your mark on the world for history to exhibit your legacy?

We all have them, deep inside, those hopes and dreams churning within. It’s great when we begin taking action: writing your first novel, blindly flying off to Hollywood to pursue an acting career, working hard for that next promotion, even going after the relationship you’ve always craved. We have but one life to live and should pursue what we truly want; whatever... (more)

The Day Smokey Died

By Coach Phatty, published on Sep 1, 2013

It’s funny how life is. Sometimes when things seem the worst and can’t get any worse, how the outcome turns out totally different from what we expected. What’s the point? The point is, there is ALWAYS hope and life may surprise you and give you a happier, more positive result than what you expected.

I decided to share a story that happened to my brother and I when we were kids that demonstrates this concept in a very personal way…

When my brother and I were growing up, our family would always have pets around the house. My parents were big-time animal lovers which meant that there... (more)

Straight from the heart

These words said

Somehow they

Appear to be dead

No longer holding

Meaning or worth

Who stole it

A drifting presence

You shall not possess

The unknown

A phantom illusion

Lost in the chaos

A ghost of untruth

No reality...

And so it goes

And so it was

Unwinding the creation

Facing the lose

Scattered beyond

All that was real...

Left on the pavement

Placed with a kiss

Abandoned dreams

Will... (more)

The One Thing We All Need

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 26, 2013

I am thinking of so many of my dear friends who are struggling with health issues and many other of life's problems. What is the one thing that we all need to have in these times? To me it is hope and faith. Very much the same in many ways. But faith to me is "hope in action"....So I wish you my friends, while I am unable to fix all of this for you, or as I said to a dear lady, "wave a magic wand" the next best thing I can offer you is hope...and may this hope turn to faith. Love and blessings. Barbara
