Drizzle this addicting and must try aioli over seafood, add to a meat sandwich, use as a topping for baked potato, to liven up a simple green salad, or tossed with pasta. This dressing can even be also be used as a dip with vegetables or even chips. Use to your heart’s desire and enjoy!

Grilled-cheese Monte Cristo came to mind when I picked and weighed in the last few good-looking heirloom tomatoes I gathered from my garden. Add a worthy spread of sweet, home-made tomato-strawberry jam between two slices of bread (such as Challah or egg bread), add a layer or two of ham and tender turkey, and then grill in butter to a delicious golden. Finish this delectable sandwich with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, cinnamon and cocoa.

Remembering San Francisco’s Market Street EMPORIUM

I came to this country in the winter of 1964, at the age of eight. And on that very first American winter, my adopted American grandfather took me and my younger brother to The Emporium, on Market Street, in San Francisco. We saw our very fist American Christmas display, met Santa Claus for the first time and sat on his lap. And then we saw our very first American Christmas Carnival, of all places, on the rooftop of The Emporium. We rode a Ferris wheel, tasted yummy corn dog on-a-stick, and fell in-love with cotton candy—a cloud of pink, sugary delight.

Is It Selfish To Live Without Prescribed Medications?

I have asked myself this question many, many times, and I always come back to the same conclusion: I refuse to live my life taking prescription drugs, no matter what the cost. It is my life, after all!

For many years I watched my younger brother, who had kidney failure, going through weekly dialysis—blood cleansing, 3-times a week, and each session lasted about 4-hours (not including hook-up and take-down time)—and I saw his great unhappiness, watched the zest for life he once had flow right out of him. Until one day, at age 30, he stopped treatments and gave up on life.

Escabeche Cubano con Frijoles Negros

Extreme Raspberry Vinaigrette

You will not believe the orchestra of flavors that will play on your taste-buds: the extreme raspberry, the subtle ginger and garlic—sweet-tart, salty and savory—a harmonizing choir of ingredients. And this recipe is unbelievably simple to put together, too!

I have yet to find store-bought raspberry vinaigrette that I like, so I decided it was about time I made my own. The final results are all in my mouth. Delicious!
