A beach town is a beach town.
It's allure is part of the inevitable let down.
The brightest do their best to to burn what is left of the meaningful discourse in the hearts of men far more sincere yet less tan.
Where almost every man comes to taste the salt of the earth or at least on the skin of the beautifully dim.
Come on, take a swim in the waters of superficial.
Yes, it's official this is where everyone comes to show off, blow off some steam and persue their dream
of fun in the sun with the not the right one, but the right one for now.
Yes, you'll still find some cows, but they will be named as such and with a little luck can be used and abused like the rest.
Yes, only the best will survive here. Or is it the worst?
This bitterness bursts straight through the sand past oily real and fake tans waiting for someone to notice and call it out.
Yet bitterness has no clout in a beach town.
So shut up, lay your towel down and wait to be judged.
An unbalanced jury of not quite peers floats near by, without a hello or a hi barely hiding their jeers behind the walls of your castles made of sand.
Damn that man has a great tan, but he is as shallow as low tide. No where to run or hide it's all about your outside. Is it true people here hate ugly?
you describe so cal real good in this piece. i caught on to the superficial fronts out there mid-way through my stint in los angeles. theres always a special place in my heart for that crazy town. i do believe only the best can survive out there, for i know its a play ground of the rich. i merely survived by scraping by. although i like to return but on stable ground.
