Leaders from around the world have offered their condolences and expressed support for Britain in solidarity with the victims of Wednesday's devastating terror attack in Manchester, UK.

Leaders from around the world have offered their condolences and expressed support for Britain in solidarity with the victims of Wednesday's devastating terror attack in Manchester, UK.

The deadly attack, which claimed the lives of 22 concert goers and left 59 injured, occurred just after a performance by American singer Ariana Grande.

The Manchester Arena suicide bomber has since been identified as Salman Abedi, an identification that came after the Islamic State terror group (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the tragic bombing, Britains’ deadliest since the 2005 London bombings.

Salman is suspected of detonating a homemade explosive device near the foyer of the Manchester Arena at about 10:30 pm, shortly after the performance ended.

The explosion went off when thousands of families and fans were filling out of the large indoor arena, sending the huge crowd into panic. The bombing suspect died at the scene.

According to investigators, Abedi is feared to be part of a wider network of ISIS - inspired terrorists. Bomb experts believe the handmade explosive device detonated at the concert must was highly sophisticated, meaning either the suspect was given specialist training abroad or could have been assembled by a local technician who is yet to be captured.

Various leaders around thee world offered their support and condolences in support for Britain’s individuals and families who were affected by this act of terrorism.

“I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack, and to the many killed, and to the families — so many families — of the victims”, Trump said.

He added, “We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom. So many young, beautiful, innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life. I won’t call them monsters, because they would like that term…Our society can have no tolerance for this continuation of bloodshed, we cannot stand a moment longer for the slaughter of innocent people. This wicket ideology must be obliterated and I mean completely obliterated, and the innocent life must be protected.”

According to Vatican Radio, the Pontiff offered prayers to the victim in a telegram:

“His Holiness Pope Francis was deeply saddened to learn of the injury and tragic loss of life caused by the barbaric attack in Manchester, and he expresses his heartfelt solidarity with all those affected by this senseless act of violence. He commends the generous efforts of the emergency and security personnel, and offers the assurance of his prayers for the injured, and for all who have died. Mindful in a particular way of those children and young people who have lost their lives, and of their grieving families, Pope Francis invokes God’s blessings of peace, healing and strength upon the nation.”

Regarding the brutal attack, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel said:

“I am following the reports from Manchester with great sadness and shock…This suspected terrorist attack will merely strengthen our determination to continue working together with our friends in the UK to combat those who plan and carry out such despicable acts. People in the UK can rest assured that Germany stands shoulder to shoulder with them.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) also issued a statement.

“The world is in shock and distress after the criminal terrorist attack on Manchester Arena. The Iranian Resistance condemns this callous attack and offers the NCRI’s deepest condolences and sympathies to the people of Britain, especially to the families of the victims…Killing innocent and defenseless people under any pretext, particularly children and teenagers, is a crime against humanity and has nothing to do with Shiite or Sunni Islam and sharply contradicts the teachings of this great religion,” said the NCRI.

The heartless terrorist attacks serves to remind us of the dangers fundamentalism and intolerance can pose to individuals, groups and the society at large.
