Why do Students need to write Essays at College?

by Stuart Clock (writer), Douglas St, October 23, 2015

If all this sounds a little daunting, simply hire an essay writing service to provide you with a sample of each type of essay!

It can be frustrating sitting in lecture halls or classrooms with other students who know less than you do but manage somehow to impress with their class participation at every turn because they, unlike you, have the confidence to speak up assertively and catch the professor's attention! That's why essay writing is an important part of college life - it gives all students an equal chance to shine, to display their argumentative powers and reasoning to best advantage.

Getting outside Help

Of course, the reverse is also true. Not everyone is gifted with the art of writing exceptional essays. Sometimes the words that come out easily enough in person just won't come when faced with a blank page. Fortunately, students who struggle with essays or are unable to meet deadlines can hand their research and notes to an essay writing service listed on or other review sites these days!

Their professional writers will turn your ideas and thoughts on a topic into a great essay that will get you the grades you'd hoped for. Using an essay service is very affordable - and you'll be surprised how much you'll learn by seeing a professionally written essay.

Next time you're asked to write an essay on any topic, you'll know how to structure your essay, what style to use and how best to reason and provide evidence for your assumptions on the topic. You will have the essay written example, produced by expert writers to your instructions!

The Art of great Essay Writing

Essay writing is required in a wide range of situations throughout life, not just at college and university. Many times a person will be asked to produce an essay or similar type document in their work life; perhaps to present a proposal to prospective customers or to hold a speech in front of trainees.

There are principally four types of essays you can be asked to write:

• the descriptive essay
• the persuasive essay
• the expository essay
• the narrative essay

What they all have in common is the way in which they are structured into introduction, main body and conclusion. They also have in common that every argument you put forward in favor or against an issue must be evidenced by facts. These facts must be based on primary sources, not something downloaded from the Internet without seeking corroboration from other sources, such as the library.

These four types of essay will demonstrate to the professor that a student can argue well and logically, that a student has a wide vocabulary to express their thoughts, ideas and arguments in a precise, accurate and engaging manner. Each essay is designed to highlight different skills, from how deep a student's knowledge of their core subject is to how well a student can research a topic and present facts in an interesting and attractive way to a reader.

If all this sounds a little daunting, simply hire an essay writing service to provide you with a sample of each type of essay!

First off, it is a good premise for an article.

But, there is already an error in your title - Why do Students Need to Write Essays IN College? Not "at". There were some other errors but I need to find out what the requirements are for this site...Sorry, it's the English teacher in me. {:

Think a valid 'constrictive' point needs to be expanded- stretched to the max. Write your OWN essays not those of essay 'pros' alluding, AT or IN is completely irrelevant. The key to success is to turn it or on, using imagination and the spelling will fall in place with useful tools. An example of 'ridiculous.' Spiel, flog, "we will essay for you." Some 2000 pro writers available. Complete with ninety proof readers! Pros? Think not. An English teacher would know, some of the greatest writers of yore couldn't spell or punctuate. Some neglected to do either. No excuse these days with spellcheck but we all err a tad. People in unimaginative essay shouldn't stow or throw 'corrective' wordy thrones. My opinion only which/that/ we/ who/ whom/ can agree with at or in not. :>) Can't repair a car engine if for example you don't get your hands dirty and with minimal advice. As long as the salient points are made with obvious mistakes deleted. For instance replace the motor back into the position it resided prior to removal. :>)
