Cheltenham Festival Voted No1 Racecourse

by Racing News (writer), , September 03, 2015 sent a survey to 232,345 racing fans to find out what keeps them excited and this report was created based on the findings.

Using twelve questions we wanted to get a better understanding of the racing audience and find out what excites fans in 2015. Some of the results make for surprising and very interesting reading and it has helped us gain more insight into the fantastic sport.

An example of five key findings that we discovered were:

  • A massive 78% of race fans say that Cheltenham is their favourite course, with just 7% picking Ascot.
  • Just 49% of people that go to the races believe that the actual racing is the most important part of their day.
  • 30% of race fans say that Kauto Star is their favourite horse of all time.
  • 71% of punters would bet no more than an average of £20 on a race.
  • Just 22% of punters have won more than £1000 on a race.
  • Which racecourse is your favourite?

It might not come as a surprise to see that Cheltenham is the most popular racecourse in the UK and Ireland, but we were shocked to see that an incredible 78% had Prestbury Park as their first choice. The answer dominated the results to our question and it was unchallenged for popularity.

Ascot received just 7% of the votes, with Aintree taking 5% and Goodwood almost 4%.

  • What is your favourite meeting to bet on?

Once again, Cheltenham absolutely dominated the results to our question ‘what is your favourite meeting to bet on?’ and it was more good news for Prestbury Park. A massive 84% of the fans we surveyed said that the Cheltenham Festival was their chosen fixture to punt on and it really highlighted the dominance of the meeting.

Royal Ascot received just 5% of the votes with Grand National receiving 8%. Less than 1% of the people we surveyed said that they did not bet.

Is racing too reliant on the Cheltenham Festival?

It seems that as soon as they cross the line in the Cheltenham Gold Cup that punters are already counting down the days to the next Cheltenham Festival. There is a growing fear that racing is too reliant on the famous fixture and it seems that those concerns are not without foundation.

An incredible 84% of race fans say that the Cheltenham Festival is their favourite meeting to bet on and 78% say that Cheltenham is their favourite racecourse. Is it time for some of the other tracks to raise their game?

Ascot - A course in crisis

Just 7% of race fans say that Ascot is their favourite racecourse and the results will come as a massive shock to course officials. The UK’s flagship track will have expected to receive many more votes than that and there will also be concerns over the popularity of Royal Ascot.

Worryingly, only 5% of race fans say that Royal Ascot is their favourite meeting to bet on with a massive 84% preferring the Cheltenham Festival. Is Ascot in crisis?

The Chanel handbags was very poor as the quilting was too puffy and it looked fake.I am so happy to have found your Louis Vuitton handbags site so I can warn other so please post this review but use my nickname Lisa.I will definitely do my homework before buying anymore Balenciaga Handbags online and will take a look at the list of sellers you compiled. There are so many Replica Watches websites out there that seem to be selling really good quality clones with an identical design and at very low prices that you simply do not know from where and what to buy Replica Rolex.
