The hesitation and precaution of action as a result of the risk in allowing your life to be accessed and monitored, to be live on the virtual press from here forth is left behind. Virtual Me: Now Live

To The Masses

A message more precisely intended for the evolving entity of Big Brother, as I am well aware that you will be reading this, have you not already done so. I will admit, You have succeeded, to a certain acute degree, in the intimidation department. This was undeniable, as I found myself in an eventual state of complete fear, consumed with hesitation by the impending possibilities of danger within this rapidly evolving and intruding technology of yours.

I can put my computer on my phone and my phone on my computer. I have an application for applications and a plethora of technological options to avoid any human interaction whatsoever. Every individual who utilizes this virtual vortex is instantly inviting the monitoring of all in which they read, write, type, see, do, show interest in, seek information on, schedule, purchase or sell is… public. I am well aware of the Orwellian presence in all of that each of us is to write, see, do, consider, or show interest in, is being recorded. That it is accessible, and ultimately, controlled.

"Your worst enemy, he reflected, was your nervous system. At any moment the tension inside you was liable to translate itself into some visible symptom."

- George Orwell, 1984, Book 1, Chapter 6

This is a universal message, intended in large part to be received by The Party. I’m assuming it won’t be long before I am followed and evaporated by Big Brother, as I am sure he has already gotten wind of my word usage. Thought-crime has been a constant companion of mine for years now. The Ministry of Truth has succeeded in an acute but aggressive way in their efforts to silence me.

I have argued my own intimidation of the virtual universe with refusal to accept confinement. I’ve used an aware avoidance as a tool for security and anonymity. It occurred to me, in a seemingly obvious way that there is no home to reside within the ebb and flow of technology and time. I will not be locked by fright or unsettled by threats of civil right. These are my words, and for them I will continue to fight.

I do find myself in absolute fear of the danger that comes with this rapidly evolving and intruding technology of yours. This is not a fabrication. I can put my computer on my phone and my phone on my computer. I’ve seen applications built for applications and a plethora of technological options to expand, yet destroy human interaction simultaneously.

Am I the only one who sees every networking tool and text, every instant message a part of something that is bringing the human race further apart from one another?

Every individual who utilizes this virtual vortex is instantly inviting the monitoring of all in which they read, write, type, see, do, show interest in, seek information on, schedule, purchase… it’s in some degree, public. I am well aware of the Orwellian presence in all of that each of us writes, sees and considers is being recorded. It has been and will continue to accessible, controllable and ultimately, completely removable.

I could never consider truly feeling that this technological tyranny, which conceals itself to appear as convenience, is in any way comparable in value to privacy, safety, finances, or relationships…To Identity. I tend to think not. I will forever prefer to grab my post it with the grocery list, as opposed to opening the virtual grocery list application.

Yet, the hesitation and precaution of action as a result of the risk in allowing your life to be accessed and monitored, to be live in the virtual press… from here forth is left behind. Once in the water, you cannot choose to not turn with the tide. Just as I cannot deny your presence, I will also not be intimidated by it. It makes the most sense, at this particular juncture, to simply embrace and explore this universal element which I cannot control, and choose to not to be limited or hindered by it.

First, welcome to Broo. This article is superbly written, scary and fascinating. As it is said, "the closer to the truth the better the lie." Unfortunately we are "living their lie" in the name of technology and making our live's easier. This is the "information age" and yet all this information has not solved our challenges. They only seem to be gaining strength. I am with you in that "once in the water you you cannot chose to not turn with the tide."

By the way, what do you mean by "I’ve used an aware avoidance as a tool for security and anonymity."

Great foresight!! Much like the part in the book....I've found a corner in a room out of sight of Big Brother. I intend to stay there until discovered.

I actually heard that a chip can be taken out of any used photocopier. It actually stores every image/word copied during its lifetime. That's a scary thought.

Cool piece! Welcome.

This invasive technology has already made inroads with far reaching consequences...Presently this virtual world which is created is bereft with danger because of anonymity. This technology has created a world where there is no police patrolling...no siren...no barbed fence...No dog barks...You cannot hear the victim screams...SCARY IT IS... because this invasive technology permits a condition where everybody poaching everybody...Still I wish to retain the hope and look into the dynamics of evolution which somehow has proved that we are capable of addressing this issue and as I know things are moving rapidly but many grey areas are still there...In the borderless environment the entire virtual world needs to controlled and monitored . International treaties, pacts and strong legal framework on global basis needs to adapted...but till then surely this invasive technology would continue to encroach upon the domain brazenly which so far it was forbidden... Things are moving ahead to address these issues but still the urgency needs to be translated into action...till then I keep my finger crossed...
