A word about Lady J:
I wear far too many hats at one time. I feel like the hydra--take one hat off, two more appear in its place. I live in the cold North with my husband, four daughters, two cats, one Australian Shepherd, and two fish. At the end of the day, I long to put all the hats on the rack and just let my hair down. While I do wear the wife hat, the mom hat, the educator hat, the hausfrau hat, and the writer hat, blogging requires no hat at all. That's just pure fun.
The grocery store. I can't seem to get away from the grocery store. Alas, I'd love to hang out at cafés more often. I'd love it even more if I could spend more time alone at sexy, trendy restaurants with my husband and enjoy the fleeting moments of freedom. Usually, you can find me with my co-writer at her house, at my house with my four daughters, out restocking our pantries, in my car heading to one of the aforementioned places, or, hopefully, in bed resting from my very exciting life.
I am currently reading numerous books at one time which is my habit. I highly recommend Dr. David Schnarch's Passionate Marriage. I've just finished Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson series which was a guilty pleasure. I've read a ton of French literature in French so I can honestly say I don't ever want to read anymore ever again. I love Tolstoy, C.S. Lewis, and Henri Nouwen. I thoroughly enjoyed How God Changes Your Brain by Newberg and Waldman, The People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, and I was amazed that Memoirs of a Geisha was written by a man. I'm still in the middle of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Coetzee is brilliant. And, I even like erotica. Suffice it to say, I've read and will continue to read a variety of genres. I read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens every December, and I must admit that I just love Roald Dahl and Dr. Seuss.
Wide and varied...from classical Rachmaninov to Daft Punk and everything in between.
I used to be a film snob, and then I married a geek and had kids. No more "Camille Claudel" for me. I have four daughters so I know my Disney princesses as well as my Marvel comic action heroes. At heart, I love Bond films, sappy romances (i.e. The Princess Bride and Room with a View), and I think that Bridget Jones is irresistible. I won't turn down a John Hughes film, but I'm too sensitive for the Coen brothers--even though the "Dude abides".
