We Have Created A Safer Space
The first thing you should know is that we do know that there is still crime in the world and we are not saying despicable acts have ceased to exist, what we are saying is that when it comes to people who have had to live their lives in the shadows, the world is now more accepting than ever.
For example, in the last decade, more people have found the confidence to come forward and say they have a mental health problem. Many people on the outside seem to think that this is a modern issue, the truth is, many people just had no place to turn to, and in the past, even doctors would not listen to mental health patients.
Over the last couple of years, you may have also seen a number of people coming forward who have been victimised and taken advantage of that have previously had to hold onto to a lot of pain for many years.
Thanks to the modern world, social media and people like Jonathan Rosenfeld, who specialises in sexual abuse cases, women and men now find the courage to come forward and say “no more.”
Hopefully, over the next few years, we will continue to become more accepting and create more spaces for vulnerable people to come to where they can exercise their voice and feel safe.
