Prevent it from remaining a dream only. If you, indeed, want to get your name registered in the merit list, there is no shortcut. You have to draft a strategy that is effective and smart. Here are a few tips to prepare for the SSC CGL in 2019.

Know the Sections:

It’s the foremost task to know about what you’re going to attempt. You should jot down the sections that form an SSC CGL question paper for seeking sarkari job. It mainly comprises these sections:

  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. English Comprehension

Segment Time: Time-management is a key to unlock success in the SSC government job examination 2019. You have to take care of the time and how much you should devote on the preparation of a particular section. You know yourself better than any other. Identify the weak section that can eat up a lot of time. Focus on it first. Then, schedule time for other sections.

While preparing, you should:

  • Strategise the sequence of attempting questions.
  • Plan how much time you’re going to allocate to a particular section.

Practicing: It’s all about how you’re going to attain expertise on all subjects and topics. You should follow these tips while preparing for the SSC CGL examination in 2019:

  • Get some mock tests. You can download them from the internet also from any reputed IAS coaching site in Delhi or somewhere else.
  • Solve them in a different order of time.
  • Attempt each section at different time-slot.
  • Frequently practice what questions take most of your time.
  • Focus on maximizing score.
  • Mark the difficult ones to review later.
  • Solve at least 40 to 50 questions based on reasoning every day. Maintain an average of 20 questions in 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Read newspaper daily for assuring success in the general awareness section. Focus on GK magazines, like Pratiyogita Darpan or Yojana. Attempt at least 70 questions in 30 minutes daily.
  • Brush up the mathematical concepts from 8th to 10th Keep tables, square roots, cube roots, formulas and shortcuts to tips. Practice at least 2 to 3 hours/ day.
  • Master the vocabulary, grammar and text comprehension. Daily grasp 10 new words. Use them in sentences after understanding their meanings. Read novels, newspapers and magazines. Solve 20 to 30 grammatical questions every day.

When you’ll be ready to give the test, check your caliber by solving mock-tests. If you’ll be able to solve English and the general awareness based questions in 10 minutes, you can win half of the battle. The rest of 20 to 25 minutes can be dedicated to the quantitative and reasoning sections.

It’s necessary to maintain notes by self. Go through previous years’ question papers. Read every question carefully and revise at the end. These are some simple tips that you should always keep at the back of your mind.
