Five ways to make exercise more fun

Exercise is so important; whether you are trying to lose weight, or just do your recommended amount of cardio to keep fit. However, it can be really difficult for many people to keep to an exercise regime, and find it enjoyable. Here are five ways in which you can try to make exercise a little bit more of a fun time for you!

1)Play games

Okay, so this only works for certain types of exercise equipment at the gym; stationary bicycles and the stepper machine (or anything else where you are only using your legs and have your arms free –treadmill is probably a bad idea, though as you may lose concentration and fall off!). For me, sitting on a stationary bike can become a little bit boring, so what I find really helps is bringing my mobile phone and play some games while I continue to cycle or step. Mobile casino games are perfect for this as you have a huge variety of games to choose from, you can even earn rewards as you play at Royal Vegas so you are guaranteed to find a few games that you love and even get financial benefit from them, through monthly giveaways, promotions etc. You also could win some money, so that makes it all that much sweeter!

2)Music

This is probably the oldest and simplest strategy for making your exercise time more fun. I often see people around the gym who look like they’d rather be stepping on broken glass than do another rep. A good workout playlist can revolutionize your time at the gym. The power of music is strong, and an upbeat song with a cool beat will not only put a smile on your face, but will make you want to run a little bit faster. So put together your own workout playlist, or have a look online for some ideas.

3)Do something fun

While the good old fashioned cardio and weights at a gym are effective; it is not something that works for everyone. Do not feel like you have to be confined to the space of a gym for your workout. Do something that is going to be fun for you personally. Take dance classes, or try a new form of martial arts, perhaps? If you are more of an outdoorsy person, take up hiking or join a local ultimate Frisbee league. If you have fun while you work out by doing something that appeal to you, you have won half the battle because you have fewer issues with motivating yourself to exercise.

4)Get an exercise buddy

If you struggle with motivation, asking a friend to be your exercise buddy is a good idea. Going for a walk or a jog with a friend where you can still chat and catch up will make it feel not only like you are doing your mandatory exercise, but enjoying the company of your friend too.

5)Zombies, run!

There is this great app called Zombies, run! Through the augmented reality app you will be chased by zombies and will have to run faster. It’s a great deal of fun, and you also get to rest easy at the end of the day knowing that you are fitter in case there is a real zombie apocalypse!
