Close to 100 students from campuses across the United States and Canada came together in Miami, Florida last weekend to take part in the Young Zionist Leadership conference. A reporter and a cameraman from Fox have been kidnapped today in Gaza masked Palestinian gunmens. The major Palestinian militant groups all denied any involvement in this abduction. It is not the first time that foreign journalists are kidnapped in the Palestinian territories. In exchange of their freedom, terrorist groups usually demand that some of their militants are released from Israeli jails. Getting to Israel from Los Angeles will be a lot easier. Israel's El Al Airlines will now be offering the only nonstop service between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv. The inaugural flight will take place on Sunday, July 23rd. The flights, which will take about 14 1/2 hours, will operate three times a week on Boeing 777 aircraft. Hezbollah militants entered into Israel from Lebanon this morning. Two Israeli soldiers have been abducted today and 8 others have been killed in the clash opposing the militants and the army. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called the soldiers' capture "an act of war". An operation involving planes, tanks and gunboats has started in Southern Lebanon not long after the abduction to rescue the kidnapped soldiers. Gilad Shalit, abducted by the armed wing of the Hamas on June 25th, is still believed to be kept in Southern Gaza. His condition is unclear. Read More

Gilad Shalit, a soldier holding both Israeli and French citizenship has been abducted yesterday at the Gaza-Israel border by a group of terrorists. Two other Israeli soldiers have been killed in the operation and another wounded. The IDF post near Kerem Shalom has been attacked by a terrorist group who infiltrated Israel from Gaza through a tunnel. Gilad Shalit, 19, is the first Israeli soldier abducted since 1994. The fate of the quiet bespectacled teen grips the whole country and pictures of his boyish face appeared soon after in the headlines of all Israeli newspapers.
