By Shaun Gibson, published on Apr 4, 2014

President took a major victory lap and took political shots at Republicans, but ignored shortcomings in his administration’s official numbers Press secretary Jay Carney will only say ‘we’re aggregating a lot of data’ when asked how many enrollees have paid for coverage Carney dodged questions about damning study that showed very few Obamacare customers were uninsured before the law took effect Percentages from a hush-hush RAND Corporation study suggest barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans have enrolled and paid premiums HHS Secretary Sebelius met a televised challenge Monday... (more)

Happy New Year Frank – a friend indeed.

By iancochrane, published on Jan 5, 2014

A guy has fallen on hard times, huddled under gentrified tenement stairs; on one side his clapped-out shopping trolley bound by trash bins and black cast iron pickets. The stairs span from streetside pavement up to an ornate doorway, moulded guardian face glowering overhead.

He seems in his 60s, but his real years are anyone’s guess. One day I ask, but my question is met with a non-committal nod of his grey face and averted blue eyes. The voice is a low cigarette-drenched rumble, sentences broken with a retching hack of a cough.

“Yeah, times are not so good buddy; rents are steep.”... (more)

US quietly releases $1.6bn in aid to Pakistan

By Shaun Gibson, published on Oct 20, 2013

The US has quietly decided to release more than $1.6bn (£1bn) in military and economic aid to Pakistan that

was suspended when relations between the two countries disintegrated over the covert raid that killed Osama bin Laden and deadly US air strikes against Pakistani soldiers. Officials and congressional aides said ties have improved enough to allow the money to flow again.

US and NATO supply routes to Afghanistan are open. Controversial US drone strikes are down. The US and Pakistan recently announced the restart of their "strategic... (more)

US 'Almost Blew Up Atomic Bomb Over Itself'

By Shaun Gibson, published on Sep 21, 2013

Millions in Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York were at risk

The US Air Force almost detonated a huge atomic bomb over North Carolina in 1961, a newly declassified document has revealed.

Two hydrogen bombs were accidentally dropped over the city of Goldsboro just two days after President John F Kennedy's inauguration, when the B-52 plane carrying them broke up in mid-air.

And a report obtained by investigative journalist Eric Schlosser under freedom of information laws showed one of the devices began... (more)

Kerry says Syria can have a political solution now

By Shaun Gibson, published on Sep 8, 2013

...for the American people to see and "connect" to this.

The US says the attack killed more than 1,400 people. US officials have released videos showing victims, including children, exhibiting what appear to be symptoms of nerve gas poisoning.

Are we seeing a backtrack here by the USA. How can they all off a sudden there can be talks to halt the madness and military action is not a must. Is this reported in the USA? This site: we get the 24/7 live news channel here in the UK. The news is way different from what we see on SKY News, Fox News, CNN, BBC... (more)

French side with the USA with intelligence claims

By Shaun Gibson, published on Sep 3, 2013

The French evidence suggests Bashar al Assad's regime was responsible - Image:

Syrian President Bashar al Assad was behind a "massive and coordinated" chemical attack, the French government has claimed.

A seven-page intelligence report sets out five points which, MPs will be told, suggest Mr Assad was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people in Damascus last month.

The evidence includes satellite imagery, allegedly showing the attacks were launched from government-controlled areas, a French government source told the Reuters news agency.

The American Healthcare System, my thoughts on a disgrace

By Shaun Gibson, published on Sep 2, 2013

It pains me to speak to friends and watch a nation called the “Beacon for freedom” and the “World’s Super Power” and discover 150+ people die each day because they don’t have insurance. The USA was once looked upon as the place to go; the American Dream was once the big thing, now you truly have to be asleep to see it

I speak to many, I research well, and this is the damning truth of a country now more interested in War and sending $Billions$ of dollars to mainly Muslim countries than helping its own people, anyone who can’t see it that way isn’t paying attention to what is happening... (more)

Are we being LIED to about Syria and Chemical Weapons Use?

By Shaun Gibson, published on Aug 26, 2013

A different spin on the Syrian issue just now, I will ask the Question, is Syrian being filled with Western supporters in terms of people with Guns, terrorists, with Western views? I think it is possible. In Libya I believe Western thinking people came in from the East and destabilized the entire country, Gaddafi went from being held head high through his country in support to being killed live on TV. I know friends from Libya and they said after Gaddafi died that is was the belief of many that Western controlled al Qaeda fighters, who were armed to the teeth by the West were to blame,... (more)

Blogger Receives Visit From Cops For Googling “Pressure Cookers”

By Shaun Gibson, published on Aug 2, 2013

The blogger in question, Michele Catalano, that some of you may remember from her blog, “A Small Victory,” which she wrote during the mid-2000s, was ensnared in an investigation yesterday. Well more than that. Police showed up at her front door to interrogate her and her husband.

Here is Catalano’s account of the experience, in which she theorizes that this had something to do with her family’s "Googling" habits:

"What happened was this: At about 9:00 am, my husband, who happened to be home yesterday, was sitting in the... (more)
