Fibromyalgia Life – Poem

By Shaun Gibson, published on Jun 9, 2014

Another day of pain in my mind it feels like rain

The strain of pain develops inside me daily

I have nowhere to run and nowhere to turn

I am stuck alone with this demonic pain

~~

I try to show love and be a good man but it’s hard

The pain can turn me the other way, makes me bark

I sometimes ask how I get past each minute with hell

In reality it’s about getting past a day, I don’t know how

~~

My body burns as my mind is tangled with thoughts

The thoughts take me to places I don’t want to go

I have no... (more)

Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here

By Anastasia , published on Apr 24, 2012

...a concentration camp, to be more exact. Shin was born there, the product of a casual liaison orchestrated by the camp guards to provide more slave labour. His mother and brother were planning to escape. Debased and dehumanised, he informed the guards of their plans. No matter; he is being tortured to find out how much more he knew; he is being tortured for the pleasure of the torturers. Later, with all of the other inmates, he was forced to watch his mother hanged and his brother shot.

We know all of this because Shin is the only person ever to have escaped from a ‘no exit’... (more)

I Will Never Be Alone As Long As I Am Here

By D. Sager, published on Jan 28, 2012

... destroy my forward progress. Still, I follow hard after her, pressing all into maintaining that relationship to avoid the terrors of being alone. What compromises have I willingly conceded to? What violations of my self-esteem and personal space have I allowed for unrequited affection? What tortures has my heart been through, even my body feeling the wretch of nerves on fire? Being addicted, not to a substance, but to a world of egocentric affection that I have created by taking the object of my affection and embellishing her to a fantastic degree. I should know better, I do know... (more)

Love-Dug

By SZU, published on Nov 28, 2010

... love-dug

my head spins round and round

I am love-dug

Trap is my soul here,

my body's up there,

my pain's shining bright,

but my ego's uptight!

I am proud of myself

for not exhibiting on a shelf,

the scar that ne'er heals,

the torture that ne'er kneals,

my love got me down

and now I hear no sound

Cuz..

6 feet underground

I am love-dug

my head spins round and round

I am love-dug

Up in the sky there's a thunder,

yet my body's not ready to surrender,

neither ... (more)

War Hits Home

By Lady D, published on Nov 17, 2009

...man away from war, but you can’t take the war away from man. It is easier to program to hate and kill than to unprogram.

This is even a more confusing incident as Maj. Hasan was in the psychiatric profession. We know how the profession has been used in Iraq (Aragrub) and Guantanamo to torture prisoners. Which could make anyone in the profession a little conflicted, in that as it is billed as a profession that is meant to help others with mental problems not provoke more.

Much of what happened will never see the light of day. However I am doubtful this will be the last... (more)
