Breaking Chains

By JennyT, published on Nov 10, 2013

...that I was it seemed only moments when deciphering me wasn't possible chained, your shackles left no room for movement ~ for me to be myself without a smile I bid hello to mornings blew goodnight kisses to the moon with loss in my eyes

how did I let this happen as if I was invisible no thoughts, no rhyme or reason allowing my identity to vanish but I'm here, trapped, exploring ways to escape without a broken heart ungluing myself from your control my existence does not need your breath to smile once more at the moon and sun

to take the me from us

What makes an artist?

By XanthusKidd, published on Feb 3, 2013

Last month, I purchased my own digital SLR. It's a camera I've wanted for quite a long time, almost since its release back in 2011. I've since had a lot of fun with it, and I even started my own photography blog, but my interest in photography is primarily technological. I can quote to you most of my camera's technical specs, as well as most of the Canon, Nikon, and Sony camera lines and their relative specs. So, here's the question. Is my obession with the technology, which has lead to a creation of what some consider art, the motivation of an artist?

Just some thoughts.

By D. Sager, published on Jan 18, 2013

Dressing myself with Waiting's robes looking in the mirror at When. Finding thoughts that without warning haunt and scare my lonely Then. Question the mistress Waiting, again to the end of never, When? Waiting she dances, holding me close and calling her lover When Her music of chance and sultry moves under the covers of patient Then A cruel lover Waiting plays with me as I grow old with desire When Teasing from me my passing youth with Waiting's close lover When First published in

Dream and Live

By Uttam Gill, published on Aug 24, 2012

...great passion and firm convictions. The consistent denials of truth in your actions result into sequence of events, which unknowingly sucks you into a situation of immense disillusionment. You jitter and that’s how thereafter the semantics takes over and you never knew that when alienated thoughts robbed you....robbed you of the best in you... Your best was stolen and the irony is, you hardly knew about this. With fake smiles you pretend that you are living. You just don’t know that, what has happened with you. You forgot to forgot to laugh...even you forgot to cry…Yes,... (more)

And I remain as it is

By Uttam Gill, published on Aug 2, 2012

Fear envelops my mind

Hope tragically seems to wean

Silken thoughts are roughed up

Running out of thoughts as I assume

On to the window sparrow refuses to sit

Titles of my pain can be seen, boldly written

Mourners too have left…no more mourning

Inconsequential queue of my long emotions

Patterns of miseries are getting too predictable

Piling burden of setbacks raise no more siren

To fall or rise has lost its relevance

Gladiators of life do not cry…Oh! It’s a terrible lie

Looking around seeing people smiling

The Gold in Silence

By DebTim, published on May 4, 2012

There are many times in life when it’s better not to open your mouth - keeping your thoughts and opinions to yourself. Often we have something witty and amusing to impart but if the situation isn’t appropriate we could end up looking the fool. Times like this it’s important to evaluate your situation and your comment, making sure it is accepted the way you want. Think before you speak. Easier said than done I’m afraid. Choosing your words wisely and deciding the right time to speak are essential in giving your words the most impact when trying to get your point across. In developing... (more)

An Aimless Obsession

By XanthusKidd, published on Aug 21, 2011

There once was a sculptor who loved to create beautiful images. He studied all sorts of subjects, ideas, and wonderful theories. He loved sport and lived for the game. His game, however, was played with people. He poked their minds to examine the results. He prodded their emotions with verbal sticks and noted the reactions. He did not allow for personal attractions or petty feelings. He concentrated on his work and did little else. His grandest accomplishments were but experiments to him once they were finished. In his mind, he never failed or made a mistake; if there was an error, he would... (more)

Words Spoken or Written are Wasted

By Frank - icare2be, published on Jun 19, 2011

Written words upon paper or stoneWithout actions are like words written Upon the stream that flows nearby.

The words vanishAs they are formed by a finger or stick upon the stream.

Spoken words to family, friends or loversWithout actions are words frozenInto glacier ice,

The words go unheardAs the words are formed into iceThen melted into the stream flowing nearby.

With action words will liveFor eternity upon the lips Of witnesses.

They are true words chiseled by actionsWitnessed by others, not self.True words for eternity.

Yet, there are also words... (more)

Ever Since September 11, 2001

By Frank - icare2be, published on May 29, 2011

The impact of the planes hitting the towers and the devastation that followed changed the perspective of multitudes of people and nations. The 9-11 disaster is one of this civilization's cornerstones in building a world united and at peace with each other. This event also created a pursuit for retribution or justice, a saga that continues even today.

Ever since Sept 11, 2001 I believe truth is a matter of perception. I deceive myself. You deceive me, sometimes even unintentionally. We, together deceive each other with our perceptions of truth. From these perceptions come our belief... (more)

I Will Keep on Trucking

By Frank - icare2be, published on May 26, 2011

I wake up with pain.I begin to move ever so slowly.I will keep on trucking.

Doctor visits too regular.Emergency Room visits too often.Yet, I keep on trucking.

Diagnosis unclear, or untrusted.Next doctor or specialist please.Trucking down my road.

Medical records grow fastEven thicker than the family bible.Looking like a truck maybe needed.

Frustration germinates and springs to life.Even confusion reigns at times.Truck load of prayers sped on their way.

Faith carries the day.My days are numbered and known. To my Driver.

I am assured there is a reasonI... (more)
