By Coach Phatty, published on May 23, 2014

...take the moment?

You told me how busy you were, how much there was to do. How little time there was to get it all done. I listened. And then I told you this:

I told you to remember that at the end of the day, it’s not about the lesson plan. It’s not about the fancy stuff we teachers make — the crafts we do, the stories we read, the papers we laminate. No, that’s not really it. That’s not what matters most.

And as I looked at you there wearing all that worry under all that strain, I said it’s about being there for your kids. Because at the end of the day,... (more)

Obama Stands Up For Teachers, Firefighters, Police Officers

By Josh Marks, published on Jun 19, 2012

... Obama to go on the offensive and back the radical right-wing Republicans into a corner.

If his recent weekly address is any indication, Obama is getting the message. He is starting to pound away at the obstructionist Republicans for blocking his jobs legislation that would put a million teachers, firefighters and police officers back to work; and would put countless construction workers back on the job rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure — roads, bridges, rail, runways, broadband, piping, etc…

Famous words from The Declaration of Independence, but how much weight do they really carry today?

The attack on these rights begins at conception. While created equal, many men's lives are snuffed out while still in the womb. Equal opportunity doesn't exist for the millions of aborted babies each year. They are all equal in value, and inherent worth as humans, but many never have... (more)

By BusinessLife, published on Sep 22, 2010

...was scheduled from 6pm to 8pm. You may be saying, wait a minute. I thought you said that your son’s school ‘Open House’ was from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. And I would say, ‘you are correct!’ So, at the same time my son is supposed to visit seven different rooms and meet seven new teachers, he is also supposed to be ready to practice football in full gear by 6pm. I will call this Cluster #1. Let’s move on. Shall we? Since there really wasn’t any time for my son to meet even his homeroom teacher, I sent him off to get his gear on and at least be on time for practice as... (more)
