The Broken System

By DKIdea, published on May 31, 2014

... most are still clinging to the two party system and seriously thinking either party really cares for them. I don’t understand why we all don’t rally around anyone that attempts to begin to make sense of it all, and vote out any other official that doesn’t do the same.

I’m not a Republican or Democrat, I’m an independent thinker given to reason, and I think the recent bill introduced by Rand Paul is one of the best ideas to come along in a while. Imagine the notion that Congress would actually read the bills before they vote on them. I’d call it pure genius if it weren’t... (more)

Political Straight Talk...?

By DKIdea, published on Nov 11, 2012 thing most of either get elected, or get re-elected. I was raised a Democrat but have found my way into the Independent status mostly because I think for myself and make critical observations, not just about politics, but life in general. Looking at all the tenets of both the Republican and Democratic parties...I can say with confidence that I don’t line up with every single one of them in either party. I like some ideas from why commit wholly to one?

It was said to me that this country is in dire need of statesmen instead of politicians. After hearing the ... (more)

Votin' On a Dream

By Notumbus Bumbus, published on Jan 9, 2012 an edible substance, and most of the time, the house (or, in this case, the uber-wealthy) wins, and everybody else eats, at best, cold spam, usually for a long time.

Now, if you are of the "right" ilk these days, you are all caught up in which of the current members of the Republican Clown College has the best fiscal plan going forward. That is, who is most likely to put you and your family back to work. So, you weight their talking points (pay attention, I know they make you sleepy!) and try your darnedest to make a good choice. But then it gets kind of sticky, right?... (more)

Thy Brother's Keeper

By Paul Wylie, published on Apr 19, 2011

Americans tend to think of the here and now when it comes to what should and should not be legalized. Ask the average person, and many will agree that 'crimes' such as smoking pot, prostitution, gambling, and even polygamy are not activities that warrant the intervention of the government. The laws outlawing these practices are legitimate targets for review and reversal, but if we really want to reform the justice system, we'd better get a team together that will review some of the stupidest laws on the books that you can be imprisoned for even today.

Taking into account that a full... (more)

Republican Pollution

Republican Pollution

Since it is common knowledge that Republicans hate the environment (Mother Earth and Mother Jones are held with the same contempt.) they might as well just admit to it. Oh it’s true. Not only do they just not care about our surroundings, they want to destroy them. They hate the environment!

I have actually been able to infiltrate the RNC (Republicans are kNown Criminals) and have uncovered astonishing information.

It is required of all registered Republicans that they sign an oath, in blood, that they will do their utmost on a daily basis, “Kill or... (more)

What is Happening to Our Country?

By master of none, published on Oct 27, 2010

...anything but work. I was born in 85--my generation is the future.

There are some shady and disgusting things being done in Washington but no one takes it any of it seriously because Fox News is such joke. The media is controlled by the government anyways so looking for the truth is like being Sherlock Holmes. I mean, what is going on? I'm curious what others are thinking that are sick and tired of the greed and the lying and I don't care if your liberal, conservative, democrat or republican. What are people already doing to get out and change things around? I want to be there too.

Where Is A Barry Goldwater When We Need One?

By Speedbump, published on Mar 11, 2009

Republicans are the arsonists who burned down our national home. Republicans combined the failed ideologies of the Religious Right, so-called free market deregulation and the Neoconservative love of war to light a fire that has consumed America. Now Republicanshave the nerve to criticize the "architect" America just hired -- President Obama -- to rebuild from the ashes. Republicans do nothing constructive, just try to hinder the one person willing and able to fix the mess Republicans created.

I used to be one a Republican. So did Frank Schaeffer, who as recently as 2000, worked to get... (more)

Liberally Speaking

By Cecelia Hendryx, published on Dec 11, 2006

We on the Left don't really care what you people think on the Right. But we do want to redistribute your wealth. The Left is right. The Right is wrong. And never the twain shall co-exist effectively, to my taste, in the Democratic Party. If Hollywood is full of white liberals, like people say, why is almost everybody in the industry white? I think what people really mean to say is that Hollywood is full of phony white liberals. Like John Kerry, wasn't Hillary Clinton for the war, before she was against it? Of course, but we'll never see that much truth slip between her lips - just her... (more)
