The Dark Side of Cupid

By Lumiere, published on Feb 13, 2011

... of seperation that keep me from you my love. Feel my heartbeat, let it pulse through your veins so that we may grow in partnership and the sum becomes greater than it's parts. My love, can you feel me reaching out for your touch, for your guidance? Tell me after all this time, through failed relationships and heartache, life has not made your heart hard with disbelief. Love, even in the darkest of times there is the faint glow of hope. Sometimes it takes having your heart broken into a thousand grains of sand to realize when those small grains are united together, love creates a window to... (more)

Healing Broken Wings

By Lumiere, published on Feb 10, 2011

...that governs technological advancements and materialism in which our mental and religious belief in 'God' is abstract, based on logic more than a personal relationship with the Divine. Mankind is moving into a new spiritual era as of February 11, 2011 and people will begin to experience relationships with their 'divine' in a much more powerful and personally intimate way. The evening culminated with Deeksha, in which people who were 'blessing givers' went person to person, placing their hands on the crown chakra and 'blessing' each individual with unconditional love, healing and mercy.... (more)

Baby Steps To Dating Success

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 29, 2011

A lot of times those who are looking for a relationship want one so badly they forgo all the necessary steps in trying to find one that will actually last and are just willing to settle for a warm body. Just so long as there is someone there, a lot of singles seem okay with the fact that it's most likely the wrong someone. With a few baby steps though, it can be an even greater success that ends in finding at the very least someone you can be good friends with and have a lasting relationship and quite possibly someone to be in love with.

Step 1 - Look for someone who can fulfill your... (more)

I'm sure we've all met them, the people who seem one way in public but in private they are something else. The ones who keep the real of who they are hidden away. I'm also sure we've all met some who are so good at being this other person that we never know what is the truth of who they are. Some do it for self-protection, others do it just to mess with people, and still others do it without even knowing it because it's all they know how to be. In reality though, are we not all hiding something of ourselves from at least some of the people we know or meet? It's all a matter of degrees really... (more)

Lip Service

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 24, 2011

...thing for most men that it does for women.

Women on the other hand, equate kissing with all kinds of things in regards to the relationship. They equate the kiss with the man's feelings for them. They tend to judge kisses by how they are performed. Some women have a tendency to end relationships over kisses alone because they tie them to so much more than just two lips meeting. For women, kissing is an integral part of a relationship not a means to an end. For some women, kissing can determine whether the relationship moves forward to sex or not.

Kissing produces chemical... (more)

Date A Vampire

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 18, 2011

... date and for those who just want someone else's money.

There are sites for geeks, for Trekkies, for Goths, and yes even for vampires as you can see something for everyone.

All it takes is a little search effort and a prospective online dater can find just about anything they are looking for. And as I am a believer in the theory that relationships last longer when you are with someone like minds, niche dating may be a more successful way to go than the larger general sites.

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 17, 2011

Gotham Dating Partners, an online dating site with outlets such as Dons and Divas and Marry Me First, intends to use public information on sites such as Facebook to create new dating profiles for non-registered users. The company, established in January 2010 in New York, by Aaron Fraser currently has over 6 million registered users. Sticks And Stones

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 17, 2011

...else other than yourself when something goes wrong in a relationship, words were pointed out to be one of the more hurtful things that can occur in a relationship. No, they don't leave marks on the body, but they leave marks on the soul and the heart, on the spirit and the mind.

In relationships, especially in times of argument or disagreement, words tend to become heated and keeping control of one's tongue can become a monumental task. For some people, they deliberately use words to hurt others. For some, it is just something that spills out in the heat of the moment. But like... (more)

The Blame Game

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 13, 2011

In relationships, we often times find it easier to assess blame than to get to the truth of the matter, any matter. It's so much easier to say, this is your fault or this caused this to happen, rather than to examine ourselves to find out why and if the blame should reside in us and not going outward.

Blame is easy because it moves responsibility for any situation to someone or something else. Therefore, we don't have to feel guilt. We don't have to take responsibility. The fault lies elsewhere. We are free from having to look inward. Blame is quick. It resolves the situation,... (more)

By Deborah Horton, published on Jan 12, 2011

As in all things, the saying better safe than sorry definitely applies to online dating. Almost every day you can find a news article on online dating meetings gone bad. From robbery to even murder, the dangers are real. You must practice safety above all else. Here are just a few tips to try and make online dating a little safer.

1 - Ask your potential date match to take a background check. There are many reputable background checking services available and anyone who is on the up and up will not hesitate to do one. If they do refuse, move on, immediately. If they do, and they... (more)
