By Lartinos, published on Mar 15, 2013

Many people have heard that fiber is good for you, but why exactly is fiber so good for dieting and overall health? Studies have shown fiber decreases body weight, can possibly extend life expectancy, and may even increase muscle mass. Fiber also helps regulate our bowel movements as well; That means it will help you whether you are either constipated or suffering from diarrhea, something that everyone must deal with at some point. Just knowing the benefits of fiber does not fix the problem of having a shortage of this important nutrient, we must plan ahead or there is an excellent... (more)

Look For The Why

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Dec 19, 2012

I want to offer you something to think about today. On the surface it is a very simple idea. In many ways the simplicity is why I feel it works so well. If something is too complicated when it comes to human behavior, most of the time I do not put too much stock in it. Narrow it down and get to the core and there is a better chance it will be helpful to you.

Let me paint a scenario for you to think about. I offer you this as it is something most of us deal with on a regular basis. Especially when our children are small.

I offer you Johnny who is 6 and Billy who is 8.... (more)

To Solve A Problem, First Identify It.

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Dec 5, 2012 be resolved is?

Knowing how to get beyond the external cause of a problem and into the emotional reaction we're having can be a challenge, especially when we're in the middle of heated emotions. But it is possible - and totally worth it.

By asking ourselves the right questions, we might realize that it's not about the trash at all. Or we may realize that what we're reacting to is that he was inconsiderate and that might be one of our biggest pet peeves. Or we could become aware that with the toddler in the house just learning to walk, having a full trash bag... (more)

Red Trails - I need to feel (Poem of the Cutter)

By D. Sager, published on Jan 5, 2012

A razor drawn, through the colors of my life

Red trails follow, enough to spite.

Angles deep and narrow channel

Direct the flow, excite the annals.

Now I’m left with the tint of life

Spreading quickly toward a light.

I yield again to the cutting's peace

Nothing left not even speech.

By taking off the mask, published on Sep 16, 2010

Who can I trust in a world of gossip?

What subject can I write about that has never been addressed?

Where can I find happiness in a "depressed America?"

When do I know, and not just hope or think?

Why do I make myself stay awake, when my body desires sleep?

How do I give and not expect to receive?

Which religion do I believe when they all claim to be true?

Whatever shall I do when all else fails, and accomplishment is key?

Whose worthy of a princess if he is not willing to make her his Queen?

Does maturity happen because it evolves... (more)
