Have you ever wondered how certain popular phrases came into existence? For example, where did the phrase “the whole nine yards” originate? Well, today’s article will explain the historical backgrounds of some of these phrases. I will be posting some more soon!

Early aircrafts' throttles had a ball on the end of it. In order to go full throttle the pilot had to push the throttle all the way forward into the wall of the instrument panel.
