What's Wrong With Being Rich?

I was recently talking with one of our nation’s youth (19 years old) when the subject of politics came up, that dreaded word which has sparked many heated debates, especially lately. We were about ten seconds into the conversation when he quickly said, “I don’t like that Romney guy.”

I said, “Really, why not?”

“Because he’s rich.”

Taken back a little, I then asked, “What’s wrong with being rich? Wouldn’t you like to be rich someday?”

Thinking, “Well…ya’ll.”

“Then, why don’t you like Mitt Romney?”

Last Night's Party, Today's Hangover

I wasn’t able to watch the DNC last week, at least not in its entirety. But, that was okay because I knew I couldn't stomach it, and I was right after reading the President’s speech and seeing excerpts from such speakers as Nancy Pelosi, VP Biden, and the big dog, the one and only, the man with the extra-long pointed finger saying, “He didn’t do that,” the Democrats answer to God almighty, the miracle, Bubba himself, Bill Clinton. Now, Clinton gave a good speech, making his case for his policies. But, news flash to all who will listen: Barack Obama is no Bill Clinton. It was all quite the spectacle... (more)
