Who Do You Trust?

By DKIdea, published on May 12, 2014

...blows the whistle, we treat them like they’re still the criminal, ignoring the atrocities for which they’re blowing the whistle. Yep…pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

As if the culling of society by the corporations wasn’t enough, we also have to deal with the politicians. I mean, why are we still falling for the okie-doke? Why are we acting like there’s some huge difference between the Republicans and Democrats when both cater to the exact same special interests (back to the corporations)? Why is it when we come across a politician that tells it like it is ... (more)

The Indian Way

By Rahul, published on Jul 27, 2013

...our own mistakes and flaws, projecting ourselves as the perfect human with explicit ethics and view the word through that shaded outlook, ‘a proper man living in an improper world, working hard, even fighting to correct it’ how more pathetic can it be.

We live in a country run by politicians and the rich, according to whom we all are totally ignorant fools, we don’t know how to run a country or a political party or a multinational cooperation and in fact we don’t even know what we want for over selves. So out of deep concern for our wellbeing they decide what is good for us... (more)

The Key To Taking Back Democracy

By Janey B, published on Feb 1, 2012

...longer be raising the funds for his or her next campaign They might even think of their electorate Ordinary citizens might get face time with their reps, not at the end of the line behind the lobbyists Campaigns might be a bit duller, since they would all be funded the same And might have to actually focus on the issues As a matter of fact, politicians might have to keep at least some of their promises, or hell, they just might not get reelected! And politics might not have the same draw to the scumbag personalities it now seems to attract in such hordes. And what would be wrong with that? (more)

Porn, Prophylactics and Pajamas

By Richard Cahill, published on Jan 29, 2012

The ugly thing about democracy is that there are only three ways for politicians to get the public's attention and consequently their votes. The first is to build us something (a nice bridge) or give us something (unemployment checks, free health care). This costs money, so taxes get raised, the voters get disenchanted and other pols get elected. This makes actually accomplishing something the most perilous (for them) way for politicians to stay on our radar. The second way is to make us afraid of something, and to claim that only the election of a certain candidate will prevent the destruction... (more)

All Enemies, Foreign And Domestic

By Paul Wylie, published on Apr 8, 2011

“The National Government will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built up. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality and the family as the basis of national life.”

“It is the purpose of the Government to fill our whole culture once more with a Christian spirit, and that not only in politics. We want to burn out the harmful features in our theater and our literature.”

“The Government, being resolved to undertake the political and moral purification of our public life, is creating and securing the conditions necessary... (more)

Journalistic Dumpster Diving

By Paul Wylie, published on Apr 1, 2011

...the media, and then having stories written that glorify the eating of food out of garbage cans as a way for Americans to save money. Or survive.

What this dumpster diving, bottom of the barrel media should be doing is screaming about how our way of life is disappearing due to corrupt politicians and even more corrupt corporations destroying the American Dream. What the media should be arguing is for the ouster of all of this President's Wall Street cronies, not sighingly wringing their hands as though nothing can be done. They should be sounding the alarm bells about the far right... (more)

Is an Unbiased Website?

By Frank - icare2be, published on Sep 8, 2010

I am sick and tired of receiving politically motivated smears, mis-information, and untruths. It is the reason I decided to write this article about the latest specific request. Request for assistance: Frank, You are really good at verification. Does Snopes lie or is it dishonest? I know you will get to the bottom of this for me. I heard a long time ago that snopes was not always truthful.. That is too bad. This is the latest hot item going around, involving both Obama's citizenship AND the controversial Elena Kagan... Obama didn't have to pay for his education because he was a foreign... (more)

Insane Quotes From The People Running The Store

By Paul Wylie, published on Sep 8, 2010

I thought to lighten the mood a little with a look at some of the most humorous things that I could find that were said by the people either elected to run our government, or those appointed in some capacity. (Yes, ok, ok, I had a bout of writer's block!) Some are dark. Some are funny, but none are boring and some should frighten you. Enjoy.

The minutes of a secret 1975 meeting of the National Security Council attended by President Ford reveal Henry Kissinger grumbling, "It is an act of insanity and national humiliation to have a law prohibiting the President from ordering assassination."... (more)

Politicians Are Paid To Represent All Citizens

By Speedbump, published on Aug 30, 2009

...were the first Reno Blogs I started with. Then Vote Gibbons Out and now I also follow this Reno Broowaha blog as well as Reno Exposes which this blog lead me to. I thoroughly enjoy reading all of them. These examples of Northern Nevada citizen activism are in stark contrast to the Nevada politicians who are paid to represent these citizens.I believe there is a personal human psychology based on the realization that others, people, and other life, animals, plants etc. have minds that can and do entertain different beliefs and intentions.I believe there is an ability in human, animals and ... (more)
