Ballerina Down Downtown

By Theresa H Hall, published on Sep 6, 2013

City lights surround

The stage set with a

Cast of three dancers

Ballerina down downtown

Transfixed I watch as your hand

Gracefully plays across imagined

Waves etched within the

Air around you

Ballerina down downtown

~~~
You lift your arms effortlessly
Reaching up as heavy drops of rain
Pound their rhythmic
Splashes of song
Ballerina down downtown
Two male dancers lift and
Pass you to-and-fro
Your slim body
Embraces the quickening beat
Ballerina down... (more)
Listening - Prose (Part 2)
By JennyT, published on Sep 3, 2013
Listen to the morning birds with their wake up song
Listen to the footsteps in the house where you belong
Listen to the new borns as they utter their first sounds
Listen to the children's laughter ringing through playgrounds
~~~~~~~~~~~

Listen to the anger in the voices in a fight

Listen to thunder as it cracks on stormy nights

Listen to the people having conversations nearby

Listen to the whirring fans on ceilings way up high

Listen to the sounds of hooves galloping on the ground

Listen to the lost shelter... (more)

Poetry Is Life...

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Sep 3, 2013

...in

Vulnerability to behold

Emotions laid bare

My soul dancing

With no barriers

To constrain my heart

Words which are

Otherwise empty

Are birthed into benediction

Sacred celebrations manifested

Clothed in poetry's wonder

Love my inspiration

As all artists alike

A celebration of life

Painting the mundane

In shades of luminescence

Rejoicing in the serenity

I give you my heart

My soul transparent

Welcoming you into

Medieval Love - Prose

By JennyT, published on Aug 28, 2013

the call of distant pipes listen

can you hear the mandolin gentle strum its melody drifting to the fire, we watch as moon light splinters the clouds and bounces onto golden flames

love circled by young hearts the gentle rustling of leaves on boughs natures perfume drifts as darkness enfolds the woods, this summers eve shadowing the castle walls

a raven calls as black as night, wings in flight venturing across the skies, you play to me sparks soar merging with the fire-flies my heart softened by the sound by earth itself

trembling hands we reach, as shooting... (more)

“PAIN”

By Shaun Gibson, published on Aug 3, 2013

The pain is like all over body toothache

I ask for God for him to come and take

It burns me bad and leaves me crying

Some days I just feel like quickly dying

I was told this pain is what people feel about to fly

Poor people feel when they in hospital about to die

I can only say it cuts me bad and makes me mad

This is why I spend a fortune on my swanky Pad

When I can’t sleep and the pain is burning bad

I always have things to do that keep me being sad

But they are only gadgets spent with crooked money

Sometimes alone... (more)

Feeling Good

By Rahul, published on Jun 16, 2013

Past events reel before me, often placing a smile on my face. Time and again some memories surface from the cranial depths and become the part of my present, creating an even more wonderful and cherishing new memory. Living life to me is like seeing a good movie in an old cine theater, laughing, crying and letting all my emotions fly into the hall's quarter darkness, unintentionally memorizing the best scenes and dialogues and now and then looking back at the projector room with curiosity, wondering "How the hell does that thing works". It feels good when I can see life through this window... (more)

Painted Picture

By Barbara MacDonald , published on May 7, 2013

Today I paint a picture Longings on a canvas My lips leaving their colors My hands their caress... Woven on this masterpiece The warmth of your sweet skin Only just beginning Never wanting it to end... With each stroke sweet emotion Leaving us wanting more Tell me what is hidden Behind this open door... Exploring sweet surrender Lost in this embrace The portrait of fascination Written on our face... Our hearts fill with desire I see it in your eyes Motivating us both higher Who knew we could fly... A portrait painted freely Each movement meant to be Etched into a snapshot Everlasting... (more)

Still remember like Yest'day

By Rahul, published on Apr 18, 2013

Still remember like yest'rday,

When I saw you first time,

I felt a tug inside and

-my whole world changed.

Still remember like yest'day,

How I loved the first shine,

Reaching early to see you

-and the last ride home with you.

Still remember like yest'day,

How your every smile was, was

-all that I lived for each day.

And you became my life.

Still remember like yest'day,

How things changed once you were mine -

and how priorities changed.

Loved you in my own way -

but just can't remember... (more)
