Oh The Hypocrisy!

By D. E. Carson, published on Sep 14, 2008

...But every once in a while, a gem of a story comes out and it just has to be addressed.  It doesn’t happen very often what with veteran anchor Wolf Blitzer almost as transparently liberal as Dan Rather, but it does happen.

Today on CNN’s Late Edition, Wolf Blitzer was speaking with Obama Campaign Adviser Linda Douglass and McCain Economic Adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer about the economic plans of both campaigns.  As usual these two women were engaged in a verbal catfight over who has the better plan.  They went back and forth with such accusations as, “that’s absolutely not... (more)

Sarah Stings Obama, While Wooing A Nation

By Amo, published on Sep 12, 2008

It was by all accounts a masterful display and perhaps one of the best presentations of what this campaign is all about.

Little known Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, followed Hurricane Gustav, on the world stage, and inflicted serious collateral damage of her own, on Obama and company. Her down home-style conversation with the American people stood in stark contrast to Obama’s lofty poetic dissertation.

Even the sitting for each convention, could not have been more different. Where Obama stood between two Styrofoam Greek columns in a huge outdoor stadium with over... (more)

The Reality Of Voting

By Jimmy Jazz, published on Sep 10, 2008

With a little under two months left until the United States of America votes for its new president the nominees have come down to John McCain (Rep) and Barack Obama (Dem). These are the two most realistic candidates to vote between although many political activists (or people claiming to be political activists) will try and convince voters that there are more candidates that have a chance to win such as Dennis Kucinich (a little more liberal Democrat in many eyes), Ron Paul (a liberal Republican in many eyes), and the ever famous Ralph Nader (last I knew running under Independent). Personally,... (more)

A Closer Look At Sarah Palin

By BTN_SB, published on Sep 7, 2008

It’s now been several days since Sarah Palin took the Republican Convention stage with a relentless ferocity not seen in decades. She struck Obama with blow after blow, shattering all previous McCain pretenses of “reaching across the aisle.” Welcome to the rebirth of scorched earth politics.

After learning on Saturday that Palin used the female rock group “Heart’s” 1970’s hit “Barracuda” against several appeals not to do so by the band’s leaders, I got curious as to how the dictionary would define the word... (more)

Not Scared Of Sarah

By AmyO, published on Sep 4, 2008

...horse, was alienate independent voters and other voters who were looking at the Republicans for a reason to vote for them. She insulted “community organizers” by saying they do not do anything and implied that any American that isn’t a Republican is unpatriotic. She also attacked Barack Obama’s wife after he has very graciously said this week with the revelation that Palin’s daughter is pregnant, that family is off limits. It would have been so easy for the Democrats to say how ironic it is that Republicans preach abstinence only education and then provide a prime example that... (more)

Hurricanes And Human Decency

By Lumiere, published on Sep 1, 2008

... is time for southern style, Midnight Margaritas. New Orleans, however was not such afortunate Hurricane Party. The Bush administration's handling of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 has been lambasted by both parties' presidential candidates. Republican John McCain has called the response shameful, and Obama regularly blasts President Bush by telling reporters, "It wasn't last time, and hopefully we've learned from that tragedy."

When Hurricane Katrina devastated the state of Louisiana and altered the State of Texas, it alsochanged my perspective of life and Human Resource Management.... (more)

The Greatest Week In Comedy

By D. E. Carson, published on Aug 31, 2008

What happened in Denver, Colorado? Left-wing liberals spent four days last week trying to convince everyone who hasn't imbibed in the Kool-Aid that Obama is "the one ordained by God for America at this time." At least that's what Nancy Pelosi said about him. Then when she spoke at the convention Monday, she was heckled by protesters chanting, "Drill here! Drill Now!" She responded by saying, "Here? You want to drill right here? How about if we drill your heads?" That's real mature from the current Speaker of the House. But then Nancy Pelosi has never been in danger of being mistaken... (more)

And The Republican VP Nomination Goes To...Sarah Palin?

By AmyO, published on Aug 31, 2008

In an apparently successful attempt to steal the spotlight from Barack Obama's big night at the Democratic Convention, John McCain let it be known he had picked his VP. Who will it be everyone wondered...Mitt Romney, no... Tom Ridge, no... Kay Bailey-Hutchinson, no... It is...drumroll please... Sarah Palin!

Wait, what? The governor of Alaska who has been in office for 18 months? Seriously? Oh, ok, its an attempt to get the "disenfranchised" Democrats that voted for Hillary Clinton. Wow...What an insult to women everywhere!

Sarah Palin is EXTREMELY Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro Alaska... (more)

They Eat Their Young! They Eat Their Young!

By slowasigo, published on Aug 31, 2008

...a spoiler mentality. Her husband, at the convention, made remarks that seem to suggest the electorate made a big mistake. Over 1000 supporters worked actively to get a symbolic vote on the floor of the convention so that they could show their continued support for Hillary.

One senior Obama supporter said the Clinton associates act like “Japanese soldiers in the South Pacific still fighting after the war is over.”

The Democratic Party had hoped that the days of the convention would help heal the party and unify the message. That has not happened. The BBC... (more)

The Great White Hype

By Invisible African, published on Aug 29, 2008

The meteoric rise of Sen. Barack Obama has some calling him an anti-Christ and others praising him as the Messiah. At his rallies, women swoon as if he’s a rock star.

A YouTube video, “Obama’s fainting ladies,” shows the Democratic nominee downplaying the phenomenon, as he asks crowds to “Hold on, we’ve got someone who’s sick” or “Make some space, they’re probably just a little overheated” or “She’s fine — you probably didn’t eat lunch, that’s the problem.”

But for many the problem isn’t nutrition or whether Obama and Satan are one. It’s that Obama believes he’s actually going... (more)
