By Andreas Klamm, news correspondent

Washington, D.C. / New York City / U.S.A. July 4, 2009. Throughout the entire nation and countries people with all kinds of different backgrounds will participate the huge massive and in some areas extravaganzas celebrations related to the Independence Day, which is known as Fourth of July.

Even in times of the economic melt down, in times where many people do struggle with daily tasks it seems to be very important for most U.S. and American citizens to remember and to celebrate what happened 233 years ago... (more)

Bloomberg Is Not A Kinder And More Accountable Giulliani

By Teresa Montez, published on Jun 24, 2009

...The thing is he is not a kindler, gentler Giulianni. This was the real person. He had his guard down. Condescendingly enough, he had a representative apologize.

Bloomberg consistently refuses to answer reporter’s questions about the campaign for a third term that he is imposing on New Yorker’s. Although we voted on term limits and he undid our vote, he now refuses to answer questions about it. He has already spent $18 million in advertising the campaign in 2009. I suppose the only message we should here about his campaign is one that has been properly spun and one that we... (more)

Joy Behar Gets Her Own Show? Please Kill Me Now!!

By Ed Attanasio, published on Jun 11, 2009

... her best night. One thing I haven't found out yet--does the fact that she's getting her own show means she's off The View? (Then, this news isn't quite so bad) CNN,once the home of Glen Beck, is hoping to boost its primetime ratings with 'The Joy Behar Show.' The 65-year-old star told the New York Times that the show will be "topical and fun" and that she'll continue her work on ABC's 'The View.' To make way for the new program, a repeat of 'Lou Dobbs Tonight' will be nixed. From my sub-headline, you're probably asking yourself--who does Ed think is the MOST annoying woman in the... (more)

Trastevere Almost A Travesty

By D. E. Carson, published on May 25, 2009

...from the main kitchen – I could see it from my table. The pizza kitchen contains an old-style fire furnace for baking the pizzas on a flat iron surface inside. The dough is kneaded by hand and is made as thin as it can be and not fall apart. In fact, this stuff is so thin, it makes New York style pizza look like Chicago deep dish! I could read the menu through this pizza. Being the pizza connoisseur that I am, if the pizza isn’t good, I don’t hold out much hope for the rest of the menu. But this was good pizza. I ate the whole thing and I wasn’t miserable like I ... (more)

The Presidency And Congress

By Christopher Wager, published on May 12, 2009

...hearing or have to make the decision that would put thousands of young men and women in harms way in order to preserve democracy in the world. The fact that America in spite of itself has maintained the same form of government and Constitution for over two hundred years is a testament to the spirit, courage, and united cause.

Star Trek

...on “Star Trek” created by Gene Roddenberry

For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been a fan of Star Trek ever since I can remember. It was a nightly ritual for me that I couldn’t go to bed until I had watched Star Trek on WPIX here in New York where they reran it for years at 11:00PM. And I’ve seen all the movies in the theaters the day they opened. I’ve watched every episode of every Star Trek TV series. Even “Voyager” and “Enterprise” I estimate I’ve read somewhere between fifty and... (more)
