Just Smokin' My Life Away

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 18, 2013 question about it, I really enjoy smokin'. Those of y'all that have been around a while already know that I smoke every opportunity I get. Those of y'all who are new will soon find out that I smoke every chance I get. I have found that there are different degrees and fashions to smoke meat. I have been doing this for 20 plus years and I think I am finally figuring the science of it all out. Since I have multiple ways to smoke or cook meat I get asked allot to cook at family functions, work functions, and at home all the time. I don't mind. One can't mind or be bothered when he has ... (more)

People Need To Lighten Up

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 11, 2013

...choices so there doesn't have to be laws protecting them for making poor choices. Do I take this a little personal? Yes, because I know the difference between being truly disabled and being an alcoholic with an addiction.

The third part of this post will be about how offended the non-meat-eaters became with me because of my opinions and how I painted being a non-meat eater in my post. Let me just throw this down for all of you, I eat meat, I enjoy eating meat, I enjoy cooking meat, and meat makes me very happy. If that offends any of you then you really need to get over yourself. ... (more)

What has the world come to?

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 8, 2013 on a regular basis. I take pride in the fact that over the years I have become quite good at it. That's nog bragging, it's just the facts based on everyone always comes back for seconds, thirds, or forths and are very disappointed when they find out I will not be cooking. I have a way with meat, it's an art, even better one might even call it a gift. I have spent the better part of my life perfecting cooking meat on a grill or smoker, I have allot of time and money invested into something I love to do. Which, in the end, is why I generally don't mind cooking the meat(s) for family get... (more)

Meat Eaters are Sex Criminals

By Anastasia , published on Nov 25, 2012

Do you eat meat? Then you are obviously a liar, a thief and a sex offender. I’m a carnivore myself so I’m also a liar, a thief and a sex offender, or at least I an according to a new textbook issued to eleven-year olds in India.

This little text of moral homilies was apparently intended to offer guidance on a variety of issues, from health and hygiene to sex education and exercise. The page on non-vegetarians is especially revealing. These are people who “easily cheat, tell lies, they forget promises, they are dishonest and tell bad words, steal, fight and turn to violence and commit... (more)

By Humble Opinion, published on May 25, 2012

...that one of America's fast food burger chains is coming up at the next exit.

Scattered across the countryside, and in virtually every small, medium and large city in the United States, burger joints are the food of choice for those in a hurry, those on a budget, or just an aficionado of meat laden sandwiches.

Today we'll compare ten of America's best known burger franchises, looking for taste versus value.

Number 10. McDonald's

No surprises is what comes to mind when one stops at a McDonald's these days. The largest of the meat shacks by far with over 31,000... (more)

How to Beat the High Cost of Bacon

By the expat returned, published on Aug 12, 2010

...The worst part is that the futures contracts influence the actual prices of the goods sold on the Exchange.

Case in point: after the Bloomberg article of August 5th, six days later they reported that hog prices were tumbling, “signaling U.S. animal supplies may top consumer demand for meat.” A spokesman for futures broker Allendale, Inc. informs us that “we’ve got this large supply of hogs starting to show up.” The article is unclear as to how there can be more hogs at lower prices, yet less frozen bellies for bacon production. Are Americans are eating more bacon than... (more)

The Grilling Season

By Theresa H Hall, published on Jul 28, 2010

Grilled pizza is becoming very popular these days, and I would urge you to start with a clean grill and to oil the apparatus properly, before cooking. Nothing so annoying as having your food sticking to the hot grill and then tearing apart. Also there are the popular kabobs with vegetables, meats, seafood, fish, and now ... fruit, too. Another delicious choice is grilled vegetables ... fresh from the vine green tomatoes, dipped, floured and grilled with butter and olive oil. I have even seen instances where some cooks use a cast iron pan or pot to grill their dessert. That's innovative... (more)
