Compliments, us women love them. I wonder if our men folk love them equally?

What does the lady in your life want to hear? I am trying to list 'genuine' compliments/words not the 'I want to get you in the sack corn'. A light-hearted and serious look at things we sometimes say to one another.

Life Over 50

to laugh when possibly inappropriate or to cry when our insides tell us to

to enjoy ourselves like never before

we aren't the younger generation any longer

we have had to work hard all our lives to get our possessions

we are grateful for having learnt manners and respect for others and not be cruel or bully

we worked up the chain in our jobs to obtain a higher rank

we can be who we are without apology

our mind tells us age is a number...our bodies remind us it isn't

That's all nothing more, nothing less

Please, Thank you, You're Welcome

...and then employ a mountain of patience that I didn't know I possessed. I have never said "please" so much nor waited so long as she decides she wants to put her shoes on. But I digress.

A few weeks ago, one of our toddler friends was visiting us with his parents. His most excellent manners became immediately self-evident when he said "thank you" every time he received something. My husband and I were so impressed and a little alarmed. Our daughter is 2 months older than him with a firm vocabulary already but this polite behavior does not happen.
