By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 24, 2012

Why is it that we find it so hard to surrender, and what does this really mean? Somehow the word can bring negativity to mind, especially when our comfort zone lies in being in control. I would like you today to consider another context to surrender.( enlarging the definition and putting a positive spin on what surrender can mean to your life.) Let's stretch our mind, thinking, perspective and put down some of the fears that unknowingly can leave us stuck in the same place...repeating behavior that is not working for us, and is not truly bringing peace to our soul. You may rightly... (more)

Ex-Gay Controversy: You Don't Need Permission to Change

By Thom Hunter, published on Jul 24, 2012

...competing interpretations of the same scriptures mean someone's theology is wrong. As for me, I am more familiar with the ever-raging arguments that emerge from the hearts of man and the depths of our souls. I may have fewer books on the wall, but I have full access to the God who knows me and loves me and knows you and loves you and sees the desires of our hearts and the stubbornness of our wills. My heart said change and my will said "will not."Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. -- 2 Corinthians 5:17But God... (more)

Is It Love or Infatuation?

By Randy Mitchell, published on Jul 11, 2012

The question above is one we’ve all asked ourselves while making that occasional, sizzling eye contact. And it’s also the oldest both men and women have contemplated every time their heart skips that irreversible beat. God made us equipped to love another, to share that certain bond we feel with no one else. But is it love we have while stroking the others hand, or simply an infatuation, a physical response that goes no further than living in the moment when it happens?

Let’s start with some definitions:

Love is a strong feeling for another which lasts through time, and never... (more)

Freedom Never Dies

By Uttam Gill, published on Jul 11, 2012

...not great and it is humanly impossible, to fight against the demonic beliefs of the world. If that is so, from now onwards, we must stop talking big, let’s not project, what we are not.

Come on guys, look into the potential and enormity of kind gestures, the genuine sympathies of care, love and affection; that can make even lame to walk. So liberally and casually, we are quoting great people words, we are sharing the sacred text of great religious books…we are extending pleasantries; day and night we are talking good, you know why, because, we wish to paint ourselves as great.... (more)

Victim of Love

By D. Sager, published on Jul 4, 2012

Speak to me of love's glories and I'll show you the teeth of this wild thing. Love is used as a lever to control people and deliver them to the slaughter. I think of the lonely woman, in love with her man. He beats her, cusses her, rapes her, and demeans her at every turn, yet, because of love, she stays with him. I think of mean and nefarious men who hold a woman captive and force her compliance by threatening her family. Her love for her family is the means by which they control her. Men are not exempt from this cruel trick of nature. I've seen a man destroy his family, his career, and ultimately... (more)

Pulling Up The Ladder

By Randy Mitchell, published on Jun 27, 2012

Are you successful in your career, home life, love life, and being in general? Were you always this way, or did you have circumstances and people which helped make you who you are?

No matter our positions in life, all of us have had others to help, nurture, support, and pay for our success along the road regardless of achievement. From giving birth to a child to our daily work as being loyal, caring, sympathetic, and encouraging to those we love, the devotion should never end on both sides of the equation. But, do we pull them along with us as we grow and surge forward, or conveniently... (more)
