I don't watch shows like The Hills on TV. Yet I can't help but know who Lauren Conrad, Audrina Partridge and Heidi Montag are. They are twenty-somethings living in Los Angeles trying to make it on their own. This information, of course, is courtesy of the myriad gossip magazines that adorn the endcaps and checkout stands of every Wal-Mart I shop.

LASA Presented The 11th Annual Festival Latino
Los Angeles-The Latin American Student Association of UCLA Presented The 11th Annual Festival Latino with the theme “Volando Hacia Un Sueno-Soaring Towards A DREAM.” The amazing annual event took place on Saturday, April 4 @ Wilson Plaza. The festival featured incredible live music, a variety of cultural musical and dance performances; games and arts and crafts.

2nd Annual Brazilian Film Festival
Los Angeles-Americans have been in awe, intrigued and inspired by Brazilian culture for a long time. There is a large vibrant and thriving community of Brazilians in California thanks in part to the large influx who have settled into Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara and San Francisco. Los Angeles-Spring is in the air as evidence by the Cherry Blossom trees that are in full bloom at my place of employment as well as down the main thorough fare of the city that I live in. It was another picture perfect day in Los Angeles for the inaugural Women’s Festival, presented by the City of Los Angeles, Councilmember Herb Wesson Jr., Community Build, and LA City Commission on the Status of Women, Jim Gilliam Recreation Center and Hungry Hog. 10th Annual State of The Black Union
Los Angeles-Tavis Smiley’s State of The Black Union returned to Los Angeles for the 10th Anniversary of Conversations, on February 28, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
This year’s theme focuses on “Making America As Good As It’s Promise.” The symposium captured the essence of what it has meant for African Americans to be enlightened, encouraged, and empowered by the solution driven conversations over the years.
