...grudges against her because she doesn’t know me to make the comments she does. If I were asked to guess as to the kind of person she is, my initial reaction would be that she is a Michelle Obama-type who thinks America is a downright mean country, lives in a place like South-Central Los Angeles. She attends a church much like Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago pastored by a left-wing radical like Jeremiah Wright or Michael Pfleger who spews white-hating, racist filth from the pulpit on a weekly basis. She is probably a morbidly obese individual with no less than five... (more)

How does where you live influence who/what you write about and how you go about doing it?Los Angeles is a city of infinite inspiration, especially if you like to rant. Coming to California is what inspired me to write in the first place. All in the same year, I went from east coast to west coast, from military to civilian, from work to school and from blue-collar to white-collar. My first column was entitled “Tales... (more)

I have written about first hand illegal border crossings in the past but this story is not just about Jorge's travels from a small town in the Yucatan Peninsula to lovely Los Angeles, California. This bit is a combination of "The Amazing Race" and "Show me the money."
Jorge's journey starts in the Yucatan city of Merida, it's there that he hops on a plane, destination Tijuana, just a couple of miles away from the "goal." As they say, "so close but soooooooooooo... (more)
