If You Had to Live Your Life Over Again

By Coach Phatty, published on Apr 21, 2013

Life is precious. It goes by so fast it's amazing. I just turned 50 earlier this year and I can't believe how fast the years have flown by. My grandmother used to say "the oleder you get...the days get longer and the years get shorter." How true it is!! I have also realized something else, I am beginning to think to myself more and more..what could I have done different in my life. What would I have changed?

It has always been interesting to me to walk through a graveyard and see all the tombstones. The thing that has always intrigued me is this...when I see the engraved tombstones of... (more)

Some Lessons That Life Will Teach Us

By Coach Phatty, published on Apr 19, 2013

First Most Important Lesson - Always remember that everyone is important to God. During my second month of nursing school, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would... (more)

Still remember like Yest'day

By Rahul, published on Apr 18, 2013

...a tug inside and

-my whole world changed.

Still remember like yest'day,

How I loved the first shine,

Reaching early to see you

-and the last ride home with you.

Still remember like yest'day,

How your every smile was, was

-all that I lived for each day.

And you became my life.

Still remember like yest'day,

How things changed once you were mine -

and how priorities changed.

Loved you in my own way -

but just can't remember -

when I lost sight of you,

in winning the world for you.

Taking Time To Take The Time

By Scorpion Sting, published on Apr 16, 2013

Getting back to the basics is something few of us ever do. We can't find the time to just "find the time" anymore. I found, for myself, I almost have to "schedule" myself some time to be able to just stop doing anything else. It's not that my life is that busy, it's the fact that I generally don't make time for myself for some reason. As y'all know, I live in southeast Texas, so our weather is already warmed up into the mid 80s already at mid April. As you can see by the picture I took this weekend, where I live is greened up and already looking like summer. I like this view, I come here on... (more)

A Box of Kisses: Words of Regret

By Coach Phatty, published on Apr 14, 2013

...girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy." The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness. Only a short time later, an accident took the life of his child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there. We need to remember that while our words can help uplift and soothe a... (more)

When Life Seems Gray

By Coach Phatty, published on Apr 10, 2013

Life is a funny thing. There are times when a person feels great about themselves; their self-esteem is at its all-time high, everything in the world looks and feels as beautiful as a cool, crisp fall day…nothing can be better. Then come the “down times” in life; the moments in life when an individual may feel like they are beaten, battered and worthless. It seems as though nobody cares about what they say (or do), their self-confidence is gone and life just appears to be going nowhere.

It is during these rough times that two kinds of people are made; ones that dwell... (more)

Falling Into Peace

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Apr 6, 2013

As I lay in despair

At the bottom of the stairs

It has taken me years to

Ascend the summit

Only to fall to the abyss...

"Why?", I cry out to you

As I lay weeping and lost

Cursing life and bewildered

"It's not fair" , what do I need to learn

That you have struck such sorrow upon me...

Surrendering, no more will to fight

Hope has certainly taken flight

Then from a distance I look upon

A light so bright I lose my breathe

Clarity shining when nothing was left...

You... (more)

Take me into the world of noise

By Uttam Gill, published on Mar 31, 2013

In the wings of my thought, I awaken

Awaken to the truth of somebody’s existence

Oblivious, so far of the one, who is real

Sobriety in its element claims familiarity

I step into the long forbidden corridors

The silence of the precinct, stares at me

I call “Is anybody out here”

Whisper of silence calls back “Yes I am”

She appears with radiant smile

Close she comes and touches my chin

She says, “Take me into the world of noise”

Light at the end o' the Tunnel

By Rahul, published on Mar 23, 2013

Anytime it feels like

can’t move on anymore

all hope is lost, or

there is no light at

the end of the tunnel.

Try helping someone,

someone random.

For it’s not what you get

but what you become that

matters in the end.

For if your thoughts define you,

then it’s your deeds that

build you slowly but surely.

And soon u will realise,

the light at the end o' the tunnel

was, all along within.

Do the Right thing: bloggers Unite!

By AntoniaRapheal, published on Mar 15, 2013 it gets.

It pleased me greatly to hear a Christian minister’s reply when asked about his opinion on gays, “I take a stand firmly based on love. While I regard it unnatural I do not do so out of hatred but merely as I consider the sanctity of gender ordained by God.”

We are all entitled to our opinions, views and based on that free to make our choices in life. As long as we do not harm another individual by practising our beliefs, no one has the right to judge us or condemn us. Let’s love one another and respect each other’s view; that is the right thing to do.
