Just One More Time...

By Coach Phatty, published on Jul 18, 2013

... my past. It always brings a type of warmth to my heart and a smile to my face thinking of the friends, people, places and activities that I used to enjoy.

I know that it isn’t healthy to “overindulge” or “dwell on the past” too much on the things of the past, but sometimes, when life gets hard, crazy, or hectic, it’s always nice to sit back and think of the special things that happened…when life was simple and pure.

So, if I could, I would love to go back and do some of these things…just one more time…

Stay outside until the street lights came... (more)

M For Morality

By Rahul, published on Jul 13, 2013

What is been commonly projected as morality are mostly selfish beliefs by an individual or a cult to keep masses obedient. The cult can hide in many masks that of religion, god, nation, race or colour. If any of the former is referred as the key towards morality then it is clearly the worst disgrace humanity can ever have, because it is visible in plain sight how many animal species take care of their elderly and young ones, how they help and protect each other for survival. The same animals that are considered inferior to humans are capable of all these things and still some keep on insisting... (more)

A Prayer For All The Innocent Suffering

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jul 8, 2013

Oh hungry one

Why are you crying?

Who has wounded your heart

Let me caress this affliction

Breathe grace drenching

You in abundant love...

I humbly offer you my heart

Use it as you see fit

Hold on to it when

Life shatters your essence

I see beyond the surreptitious smile

Let me look inside your soul...

I cherish so many memories of sharing in such profound pain....What do you say to a woman who has found Hell on earth? Does anyone else see the deadness in her eyes? When... (more)

Last Words

By Coach Phatty, published on Jul 7, 2013

One day a girl, Sara, who was fifteen years old, came home from school in a very bad mood. She'd had a fight with her best friend that day and it hadn't turned out well at all.

"Sara!" her mom yelled. "What are you doing? You know to do your chores right when you get home! And you're late!"

"Coming, Mom!" Sara yelled, getting up and stomping towards the kitchen. "What?" she snapped as her mother gave her a stern look, annoyed.

"You'd better straighten up your attitude, young lady," her mom warned, "or you'll be grounded."

"Whatever." Sara began... (more)

Still I Hold On To Hope....

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jul 1, 2013

I am a dreamer of bountiful dreams

Many never coming to fruition

I've watched them silently flying

Into the vast unknown chasm ***

Still I have dreams I realized and they bless me

So I dream on...

I am a prayer of endless prayers

Quietly I wait looking for this

Sweet redemption to bless my heart

They go unanswered***

Still many prayers were heard and justified

So I pray on...

Often I have trusted a friend

To be betrayed and left weeping

A betrayal to my heart

Scarred... (more)

Love, Life & My Crazy Thinking.

By Rahul, published on Jun 28, 2013

Love is a trap. When it appears, we see only its light, not its shadows. -Paulo Coelho.

Some are ready to give even their life in the name of Love, pity it’s so because I always thought of it as something meant to give people a long happy life rather than a sad premature end. Thinking that there is only one love in life is the biggest mistake one can ever make. Love is only an emotion like anger, hate or joy and so it should be understood as such. It is never above one’s own life, it is only a medium through which we seek for happiness in life. It is a selfish feeling, a feeling which... (more)

Trouble Comes To Pass, Not To Stay

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Jun 24, 2013

Today a lady came into my life in a new way which I was not at all expecting. I had organized a class in my building to help some of the people dealing with chronic illness. It is through a program called the Wellness Program which I am helping implement . Two wonderful women are presenting this. Today while going through an exercise the one lady broke down in tears and excused herself and went outside for a few minutes. She came back after and apologized and said she is going through some personal things right now. The class continued on, and again she had started crying and left to go sit... (more)

Value and Invest in Yourself

By Coach Phatty, published on Jun 24, 2013 of them and maximize their potential. It will be too late to take care of your body and mind (and car) later on. You can maintain them, but it is hard or impossible to undo big mistakes or negligence later on. You do not want to end up with a wreck on your hands.

Your main asset in life is yourself.

Treat yourself as a valuable asset. I often explain to students that I would be willing to pay today for a percentage of the future earnings of good students.

If you value yourself, and invest in yourself, you will be worth a great deal throughout your lifetime, both... (more)

Life Is A Gift

By Ely North, published on Jun 23, 2013

Dear Ely,

Today was the worst day of my life. This morning my mom burnt my waffles, and we were out of delicious maple syrup. Then I missed the bus and had to run all the way to school. When I got there a bully punched me in the belly and stole my lunch money. At lunch I had to sit there hungry, longing for those dry crispy waffles. At recess a bird flew by and pooped on my head. All the kids laughed and called me “poopy head,” and I had to go to the nurse to have her wash the poop out of my hair. In the afternoon I failed my African Animals spelling test because I thought... (more)
