The Gate was open

fingertips trace the suede

that swaddles the comfy place we’d sit and watch old movies leaving imprints of my identity across where you’d lay your arm

the kitchen table where we shared our meals and laughter from the day or serious conversations on world events with stifled yawns from me ~ sits barren

looking sideways to the crooked frame hanging on the wall; giggles remembered and stamped feet, how you never hung it straight ~ the memories of ‘us’ ~ just simple things

Tears in the Eyes

By Coach Phatty, published on Sep 5, 2013

A trucker had pulled up and was calling for help on his cellular phone. Soon Barbara heard the ambulance sirens. A few moments later she surrendered her lonely post to rescue workers.

“Good job,” one said as he examined the driver’s wounds. “You probably saved her life, ma’am.” Perhaps.

But as Barbara walked back to her car a feeling of sadness overwhelmed her, especially for the family of the girl who had died. Their lives would never be the same. Oh God, why do such things have to happen?

Slowly Barbara opened her car door. What should... (more)

I Refuse To Miss The Dance...

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 31, 2013

-----I truly feel your life is what you choose to make it.......and also so much has to do with HOW you want to perceive the world. You can have the attitude that nothing good ever happens to you and life sucks. Or on a positive note, you can decide that you will make a life for yourself that has meaning, purpose, and joy. Over the years I have worked with such a variety of people. Many of them dealing with so much pain , not having much positive in their lives.

Many having grown up in homes where there were addictions, emotional and physical abuse, sexual abuse and... (more)

Straight from the heart

These words said

Somehow they

Appear to be dead

No longer holding

Meaning or worth

Who stole it

A drifting presence

You shall not possess

The unknown

A phantom illusion

Lost in the chaos

A ghost of untruth

No reality...

And so it goes

And so it was

Unwinding the creation

Facing the lose

Scattered beyond

All that was real...

Left on the pavement

Placed with a kiss

Abandoned dreams

Will... (more)

creationism vs evolution

... their stocks and shares. I am “Live and let live” kind of guy, I believe in allowing opinions, it’s called courtesy yeah?

So when good things happen, “God did it” Every time. I lost my pain for 2 weeks and many said “Your prayers have been answered” And honest, on my kid’s life, I appreciated the words. Now the pain is back, do I blame God? See where I am going here? We can’t have it both ways, he either helps all the time or doesn’t. If God can help, then why doesn’t he stop kids dying? I had a relative die aged, like 2 of Cancer, is that God’s will, or does... (more)

Photos taken in the past that show us the future

...Twenty years later and my mom still doesn’t have her dream kitchen. Love, Jill

Dear Photograph, It was the “Blizzard of ‘96," just after my 13th birthday. That’s me on the left, with a neighborhood friend and my younger brother. We had off of school for a week; every day we went sledding, ate soup and played video games. It was the greatest week of my life. Jon

Dear Photograph, I loved that bike. Raleigh Burner. The best summer ever and great memories. I cycle to work everyday, but I have stopped the wheelies! Thanks Mum and Dad. Love Haydn

The One Thing We All Need

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 26, 2013

I am thinking of so many of my dear friends who are struggling with health issues and many other of life's problems. What is the one thing that we all need to have in these times? To me it is hope and faith. Very much the same in many ways. But faith to me is "hope in action"....So I wish you my friends, while I am unable to fix all of this for you, or as I said to a dear lady, "wave a magic wand" the next best thing I can offer you is hope...and may this hope turn to faith. Love and blessings. Barbara

I am Love

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 24, 2013

Deliberately with lucidity of purpose

Opening my eyes and essence to you

I feel you as a warm breeze caressing my spirit

Do not let fear inhibit your heart

I bring you prayers of your unconscious

Thoughts, desires, longings....

I have always been the justification

To all you have sought

The retreat you run to in the darkness

The safeguard to your soul

I am the light and motivation

Of God's breath in you

I am your journey now and always

May you live your truth....

The Tapestry Of Life

By Barbara MacDonald , published on Aug 6, 2013

...the wings of joy etched

Within the elegant stars of heaven

Bursting forth our thoughts

A polished halo

As we sing with the angels...

No tears but those of joy

Sprinkled benevolence

Dancing into the calming breeze

The ocean of life calling

Swimming inside this sweet surrender

The warmth of the white sand

Playing on our toes

Wet lips quenching our nature...

Listen to the music

Playing in harmony inside

Our innocent aspirations

Ride in the chariot of your... (more)
